We celebrate independence day every year commemorating the birth of our country and the freedom from Spanish colonial rule. It was a hard won war that put Mexico and its people on the map. It was a time where people from all around joined forces and fought bravely for the country and the future this represented. Long story short, Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende lit the fire for what was to become the fight of their life.

For me, Independence Day is an important day because Mexico commemorates the day that Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a priest who fought for the Independence of Mexico, made "el grito de la independencia".

For me Independence Day means that we celebrate the freedom for Mexico since 1821 , the Independence of Mexico is very important because it's not just a battle is a movement that finishes with the injustice in Mexico.

Mexico has a beautiful and important history full of brave people who dared to raise their voices and fight for the independence of their country.
Mexico is in my blood and I feel proud to be Mexican, to be from Veracruz and to know that many years ago people who I never met but will always be grateful to, fought to give me the rights that today I enjoy with joy.
