Because the image of Bruce Lee is always in a yellow jumpsuit, I had a look at some of the posters and they were all very yellow in colour.
But unlike the way I see him, he actually studied philosophy and has a very deep and personal approach to his thoughts and ideas. I wanted to break the stereotypical image of him. Also different from the norm, I used the complementary colour purple, which is often the opposite of yellow, to make up the whole picture. The collision of traditional Chinese style and futuristic mechanical style was a new play I wanted to try and I thought it would be an interesting collision.
The main theme and purpose of the painting is to show that BruceLee is gone, but his spirit is always influencing different people...
