Louis grew up in France. His father and brother worked at their own photography studio. After graduating high school Louis decided to work with his brother and father. Upon doing so he fell in love with the art of capturing photos. Louis and his brother created new and faster ways of developing photos. The brothers created a way to devolope pictures without liquid that had to be added to previos pictures in their time. After creating this and selling it they used the money they made to experiment with new photography ideas. After seeing thomas edison demonstrate a Kinetoscope the created their own version and called it a Cinematograph. The Cinematograph captured several pictures a minute and put them on a real of film that could then be used to play back. This was the first ever movie. The first movie that Louis showed was one of him and his brother leaving their factory. After that they continued to create thousands of short films.

Without the Cinematograph movies and videos would not be a part of every day life like they are today. Movies and cinema shape the way we live by inspiring us and letting us get our wildest dreams out there. Without them and the Cinematograph none of that would be possible.
