Book- Tell Me Three Things
Project- Book Jacket
Have you ever taken advice from a stranger? That's how Jessie Holmes kickstarted her new life in Los Angeles. Let's talk about Jessie; a junior in high school who had to leave her old life behind in Chicago, Illinois. Now after facing the passing of her mother, she's facing a new step-mom, step-brother, and a new crowd of Beverly Hills brats at school. Jessie is a normal girl she dresses as normal girls did in Chicago, but that is plebian to everyone at her prestige private school. After a few terrible first days of getting mocked by the barbies of Wood Valley High, Jessie feels alone in her new at her unwelcoming school. Jessie also feels out of place in her new "museum" or mansion that she now lives in. Suddenly that changes, she gets an email from an anonymous person who claims to go to her school. They go by Somebody Nobody or SN for short. SN emails Jessie daily and gives her advice about fellow peers to befriend, teachers, and cafeteria food, and talks to her about personal issues. SN is like Jessie's new digital guide and best friend. Even though the only things Jessie knows about SN are that he's a boy, he's a junior, and attends Wood Valley High like her. Does Jessie find out who SN is or make any new friends? You won't find out unless you read "Tell Me Three Things" by Julie Buxbaum.

- Book selfie
Book - Rules by Cynthia Lord
__________________________________
Summary
Rules is about a 12 year old girl named Catherine. She has a 8 year old brother who suffers from autism. His name is David. Catherine is struggling on what to choose between taking care of her brother David or to figure out where her place in life is. For this same reason Catherine has a hard time making friends, so when she heard a girl was moving in next door she was in shock. The new girl on the street was Kristi. One day Kristi went over to Catherine's house. She was looking through her drawings and came across a picture of Jason, she immediately started questioning her about who he was. Catherine just said that he was a friend of hers, but she was to scared to tell her the truth that he was a paraplegic. This means that he can't talk and can't walk on his two feet.Later that school year came around a dance. Kristi was so excited about the dance. She asked if Catherine wanted to come with Jason, but she said she didn't feel like going to the dance, but really she just didn't want to go with Jason. Kristi begged her to come but Catherine still had her mind set on no until Jason asked and didn't even think and said yes. At the dance she was with Kristi. Suddenly Jason came up to Catherine and asked her if she wanted to dance. Kristi smiled then started laughing, this is Jason. At the time Catherine saw Kristi true color and who her only friend was.
__________________________________The kind of readers who would read this book would be readers who enjoyed reading literature.

Introduction -
The book that I am going to talk about is "Shiloh Season" (Shiloh #2) and this book was written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. This book is full of feelings such as scared, happiness, excitement etc.
About this book -
This book is about a boy called Marty who worked for a man called Judd. Marty did the hardest job to make a dog named Shiloh for his own who belongs to Judd. Judd was a rude person and also he doesn't show any kindness to any people or neither to his dogs. Then it's about how Marty managed to hide his dog Shiloh from Judd. However, it all happened when the hunting season started and also when Judd started to drink a lot. So now Marty had a feeling that, "Is Judd is going to shot his dog Shiloh?". After that feeling Marty started to hide his friend Shiloh (the dog) from Judd. It is because when Judd gave his dog to Marty for all meanest work that Marty had done for Judd. But now Judd had changed his mind that he give his dog (Shiloh) to Marty for doing his hardest work. So if you want to know the answer for this question - "Did Judd shot Shiloh or not? ". To find out the answer for this question just read the book "Shiloh Season" (Shiloh # 2) and enjoy it.

summer reading
book selfie
restart by gordon korman

Restart is about 13 year old Chase Ambrose who wakes up in a hospital and doesn't even remember simple things like who his own mother was or what his name was. Chase was then informed by the doctors at the hospital that he had fallen off the roof of his house and received a broken shoulder, a severe concussion and amnesia. Readers who like suspense would enjoy this book because they get to see how chase has to rebuild his life practically from nothing. "This is an awful thing that’s happened to you, but it’s also presenting you with a rare opportunity. You have the chance to rebuild yourself from the ground up, to make a completely fresh start.” This quote from the book shows how Chase must restart his life because he couldn't remember anything from before his accident.

Book Selfie
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Summary

The book I read over the summer is titled, To Kill a Mockingbird. The main character of the book is a girl named Scout (her real name Jean Louise Finch) who lived in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama in the 1930’s. Other main characters are Atticus Finch, Scouts father and also a lawyer, and Jeremey, Scouts brother. During this time in the south, African Americans were not treated the same as whites. The conflict of the book is when Tom Robinson, an African American male, is accused of raping 19 year old Mayella Violet Ewell. Scout and Jeremy feel that no matter where you come from you should be treated equal. This caused All the townspeople of Maycomb, Alabama disrespect Tom by yelling racial slurs, spiting and threating Tom with violence. Atticus sees this and feels pity for Tom. He thinks everyone should be able to have a fair trial, so he offers to be a Lawyer for Tom days before the trail begins. When the townspeople find out they are furious. During the trail .Some of the witnesses said that when Tom raped Mrs. Ewell he ran away from the scene so he would not get caught But Atticus comes to the rescue and says that if Tom hit Mrs. Ewell he would of been killed.

Atticus calls up Tom to testify and Tom revels that Mr. Ewell abuses Mrs. Ewell and embarrasses the entire Ewell family. This changed Mr. and Mrs. Ewell’s reputation a lot because now they look like liars in the town. Now the all white Jury is faced with a tough question to answer, is Tom guilty or innocent? The case is closed the court rules in Tom’s favor and he is innocent. Atticus is more compassionate after the case he has more respect for both African Americans and whites.

Recommendations

I recommend this book to anyone who likes history, especially for people who like American history. I think that anyone who would like to know what it was like for people that were considered “different” because of there skin color 1930’s. At the very beginning of the book it starts with a quote that goes along with the book. “Lawyers, I suppose, were children once -Charles Lamb. This quote fits in with the book because, when Atticus felt empathy for Tom and his family along with all African Americans that were being mistreated so he helped Tom by being his lawyer and showing his town that no matter were your from we should all treat people the same.

My book is also a movie. My book is called Five Feet Apart. In the book the characters were the same as in the movie. The setting was all the same and since i watched the movie i can visualize the settings better. The plot is also the same but the only thing they changed at the end was stella saw will at an airport 8 months later. To me they did a very good job with the movie and the book but they should have made the book or the movie a little different.I personally think the movie is better because i don't really like reading.

Some Days later her daughter came and she threw him into the trash. After many years, he met a hobo and his dog lucy. They passed a few days together. One day he left him alone on the street. The next morning, a lady came a picked Edward and took him to her home and made Edward a scarecrow for her backyard . There was a boy named Brice. He told him that he will come one night and pick him up for her younger sister Sarah. He came that night and pick him up and gave Edward to Sarah.

I read IT over the summer and the incredibly long book written by Stephen king was definitely more detailed than the recent movie series. The book was definitely more gruesome as it hits the ground running with a terribly detailed description of a dead mans body, while as the movie spends its time more conservatively focusing more on the kids and their ties to the clown, leading up to them teaming up to defeat the beast. That is not to say he book does not focus on this, in fact the book goes into the kids situation far further than the movie does going into way more detail of the kids fears and traumas. The town of Derry is well depicted in the movies as a place that is wild yet nobody notices the terror around them, only the losers club can see and notice the strangeness, the movie does a way better job helping visualize the strangeness of Derry. The books describe the people in the town with amazing visualization it gets freaky. Overall both adaptations are great for getting the basic story but the book definitely does a better job, I wish the movies would go into greater detail into the kids fears and spent more time on them and their issues instead of trying to consistently put you in a scary moment, the book doesn’t really need to worry about this because of its length but it definitely would have been interesting seeing more of that onto the big screen.

Trailer link: https://youtu.be/hAUTdjf9rko https://youtu.be/Mnsgnb00CL0

The narrator who is a airplane pilot crashes in the Sahara desert. The crash damages his airplane and leaves the narrator with very little food or water. As he is worried about his crisis he then gets approached by a little prince, a very serious little blond boy who asks the narrator weirdly to draw him a sheep. The narrator obliges, and the two become friends. The pilot learns from the little prince that he comes from a small planet that the little prince calls Asteroid 325 but that people on Earth call Asteroid B-612. The little prince took great care of this planet he prevented any bad seeds from growing on his planet and making sure it was never overrun by baobab trees. One day, a mysterious rose sprouted on the planet and the little prince fell in love with it. But when he caught the rose lying one day, he had decided that he could not trust her anymore. He had grown lonely and decided to leave his planet or home. Despite a last-minute reconciliation with the rose, the prince set out to explore other planets and cure his loneliness. While journeying, the narrator told us that the little prince passes by neighboring asteroids and encounters for the first time the strange, narrow-minded world of grown-ups. On the first six planets the little prince visits, he meets a king, a vain man, a drunkard, a businessman, a lamplighter, and a geographer, all who live alone and are overly consumed by their chosen occupations. Their strange behavior amused the little prince. He did not understand their need to order people around, to be admired, and to own everything. But with the exception of the lamplighter, whose faithfulness he admires, the little prince does not think much of the adults he visits, and he does not learn anything useful from the. However, he learns from the geographer that flowers do not last forever, and he begins to miss the rose he had left behind. The geographer suggested the little prince visits Earth, but he lands in the middle of the desert and cannot find any humans. Instead, he meets a snake who speaks in riddles and hints darkly that its lethal poison can send the little prince back to the heavens if he wishes. The little prince ignores the offer and continues his explorations, stopping to talk to a three-petaled flower and to climb the tallest mountain he can find, where he confuses the echo of his voice for conversation. Eventually, the little prince finds a rose garden, which surprises and depresses him—his rose had told him that she was the only one of her kind. He also meets a fox, who teaches him that the important things in life and that his time away from the rose makes the rose more special to him. The little prince realizes that, even though there are many roses, his love for his rose makes her unique and that he is therefore responsible for her. Despite this he still feels very lonely because he is so far away from his rose. The prince ends his story by describing his encounters with two men, a railway switchman and a salesclerk. It is now the narrator’s eighth day in the desert, and then prince suggested they set off to find a well. When they find that well it cures their dehydration and the two share a moment they agree that too many people do not see what is truly important in life. The little Prince decides to return to his rose, and he begins making plans with the snake to head back to his planet. The narrator is also able to fix his plane on the day before the one-year anniversary of the prince’s arrival on Earth, and he walks sadly with his friend out to the place the prince landed. The snake bites the prince, who falls noiselessly to the sand. The narrator feels comfort when he cannot find the prince’s body the next day and is confident that his friend has returned to his asteroid. The narrator is also comforted by the stars which he now hears the tinkling of his friend’s laughter. however he grows sad and wonders if the sheep he drew has eaten the prince’s rose. I would recommend this book to people who like books that are fiction or are trying to find a new good book to read and a quote I found interesting is “Goodbye,” said the fox. “Here is my secret. It’s quite simple: One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes. . . . It’s the time that you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important. . . . People have forgotten this truth,” the fox said, “But you mustn’t forget it. You become responsible for what you’ve tamed. You’re responsible for your rose. . . .” Because it teaches the reader a lesson about the what they care the most about which could a person or even a rose.

Restart is a #1 bestselling book made by Gordon Korman in which a 13 year old boy named Chase falls from his roof and his whole life changes in a blink of an eye. When Chase wakes up in the hospital he is confused by the strangers surrounding him then it hits him, he can't remember anything. His mom and his older brother were shocked and worried as he tried to reach in the back of his head for anything he could try to remember but it's all blank, his memory completely wiped out. After returning home and re-meeting his dad and his other family chase returned to his room freaked out staring face to face at the window where he had fallen. Eventually he moved away from it sitting on the side of his bed then he spotted a cellphone which had run out of battery but when it turned back on he was surprised to see his himself and two other guys bashing pumpkins on Halloween, it made him think about who he was and what choices he had made in the past. Once Chase returned to school It was as if he was a new kid since everybody was staring at him. Once he met up with his apparent best friends bear and aaron they were shocked after finding out he had really lost his memory as the books states “I've got something to tell you, when I fell off that roof I got more than a concussion and a sprained shoulder. I got amnesia too” although sad they had hope his memory would come back. But as time goes on he realizes little by little the mistakes he had made in the past pushing forward to be a new person. Restart is a great writing masterpiece for those who enjoy to read drama and suspense.

I felt that the movie was better because of the fact that I could visulize the setting and the characters better, and the book was good but not as good as the movie because when I read the book I didn't know how the characters looked like besides the decrisption of them and the setting I didn't understand because I couldn't personally see it. The only problem I had with the movie was that some things were different compared to the books for example, the only girl teresa was in the scenes a lot in the movie but in the book she wasn't really talked about.

The book I’m reading is “wonder” by R.J Palacio. Wonder is about a boy name August who has a face dysfunction, and his family, He has a mom and dad and sister named Via. August is going to sixth grade and his father and mother were speaking on the topic of sending August to middle school, August has been home schooled most of his life. His mother wants August to go to middle school she feels he will learn more, in the other hand August father feels like It’s still to early for him and he may get bullied. August in the end does go to school and when he first went to school he went to get a orientation. At the orientation he met his principal Mr.Tushman, also he met 3 kids that will be also going to middle school with August. The 3 kids name were Jack Will, Julian, and Charlotte. When the 3 kids were showing August the school Julian was being really rude to August calling him names and asking rude questions. The first day of school for August was horrible people were looking at him and every time August walked by people they would move away from him, like they are scared of August. When August came home from school he would be sad and feel depressed. One day in school the boy who was showing him around Jack started to talk with August, soon they became very close friends. But they had a big fight but after the fight they were okay and friends again. August sister Via also has problems, for example when it was Via first day of school she ran into her friend Miranda. They didn’t see each other in a long time and Via try to have a start conversation with her but Miranda kept trying to stop talking with her and go sit down with her others friends. Via felt sad and left the lunch room she was in, she was standing near and bulletin board crying. On the bulletin board the paper to sign up for the play was there and a boy named Justin went to go sign it but see Via crying and looking sad. He started talking with Via to make her feel better making her laugh, talking with Justen encouraged Via to join the play. Soon Via and Justen start dating and they do the play soccer as the leading roles. August at school his problems have been resolved because his bully got expelled,Julian, and August started to make more friends and started to be more happy. I would recommend this book to middle school or anyone that has a type of disability because this book can encourage them to look on the bright side of things. Also one of my favorite part of this book is when August was really sad and stormed from the kitchen table and locked himself in his room. His mom came into the room and August just spilled his feeling out and it was just a sad scene. 10/10 would recommend

Book Selfie

Front Desk is about a girl named Mia Tang and her parents. The Tang family has recently arrived to America from China. The mother and father began to be greedy for another job after both were fired from their previous ones. During this sad time of theirs, Mia misses her cousins more and more everyday. One day with her mom looking through a list of available jobs, what seems like a opportunity job for the Tang family arises. Mr.Yao, a motel manager was looking for someone to run the place. The mother and father had found themselves a new job and place to board. Although, Mr.Yao wasn't the most nicest or respectful person they've had a conversation with, what other option did they have? So, the Tang family all go together for the first day of the job and began asap.Working there seemed like a dream come true until all the restrictions got listed for the three, like no pool and paying for whatever breaks while their in charge. Still very hopeful, the parents handled the cleaning and organizing of the motel while Mia was busy checking customers in and out at the front desk. However, just like every other year she spent in America, Mia registers for a new school where she and Mr.Yao' son Jason both attended. The year goes by rough working at the motel for Mia and her family. Money Sharks, Police, Annoying Parents, and of course Mr, Yao with his obnoxious behavior and his son who happens to be Mias bully at school. Mia gets bullied for her race and choice of clothing which Jason could happily join in on and make her fee worse day by day. But Mia, she didn't let herself down even if her mother had told her she couldn't learn English, she was determined and got better at it one step at a time. Through and through the Tang family was able to survive these harsh days and Mia was creating a friendship with Jason. Finally, Mr.Yao was exposed by everybody who he had disrespected, even his own son ,along with the Tangs. I recommend this book for ages 11-14. This is because this book gives a great lesson anybody can learn from, especially soon-to-be-teens who may think they need the best of everything to be happy and successful in life while somebody in real life could share a really similar story as to Mias.

Movie
brian banks
what set me free
i personally think that movies are not the same as the books the books are much better.. The movie was good but the book was better. In the book it talks about how Brian was accused of rape and kidnapping at the age 16. When he went to court he took the pled and went to jail for 3-6 years. After the years he went back home. He got house arrest and the girl contacted him again.
