Within your groups, you will read and annotate a section from “Googlepedia: Turning Information Behaviors into Research Skills.”
Annotate the section for central ideas, key details, text connections, and how the section is relevant to research.
After you become an “expert” on your section, your group is tasked with creating a visual aid (mini anchor chart or mini poster) to present to your peers. The visual aid should include the title of your section and only be one page in length.
You may create the visual aid on PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, or another digital platform. Be sure to share and include the names of all group members.

After creating your mini anchor chart/poster, have one member from your group upload it here.

Upload the visual aid by selecting the "+" icon located at the bottom.

In the subject line, type the title of the section assigned to you.

Be sure that all members' names are visible on the poster.

Be sure to type a substantial response (100-200 words) to at least one of your peers' posters. Ensure that your name is included in your comment.

I agree that students have been taught to 'get by' by relying on Google and other search engines to research. Most students have not been taught the value of inquiring about where sources come from and their reliability. Part 3 of the visual claims that research can be more than scrolling through Google. I recommend going through the KSU library search instead because the internet is full of sources that haven’t been checked for authenticity and facticity. We’ve learned through our readings that the most reliable sources don’t come from Google or Wikipedia! You stated perfectly that we need to dig deeper if we want our research to provide successful results!

Students have definitely been able to get by using just generic internet search engines on research papers. I am honestly guilty of that for most my research. I never considered the credibility issue that needs to be addressed now that we are writing at the college level. Going fourth, I'll use the KSU Super Search because it is more credible for assignments, rather than using random websites I find bits of information from that support my writing. After all, the major issues with sources like Wikipedia is that they can be edited quickly without fact checking, which could lead to serious inaccuracies in information and data. Overall, I learned from your poster and through this assignment that I need to start using more reliable sources to create stronger and more accurate claims in my writings.
