On March 13th, 1963 Ernesto Miranda got arrested and charged for Kidnapping and Rape. After the police had locked him in a room and grilled him for around 2 hours under bright light and without food or water. He ended up given a written confession. Later the police officers had ended up admitting that they did not ready Miranda his rights to a lawyer.

They ended up retrying him since they had not told him his rights previoulsy. Miranda was found guilty of kidnapping and rape and was sentenced to 20-30 years imprisonment on each count.
