Joshua has a strong ability to recall sounds and enjoys experimenting with them. He can remember and carry out two verbal instructions with ease and is able to match sounds to pictures accurately. Joshua loves the songs and rhymes in Afrikaans and can confidently sing some of them. He makes a great effort to pronounce the isiZulu words correctly that we learn each week. Excellent progress! He understands instructions clearly and communicates with confidence, participating eagerly in group language activities and enjoying every opportunity to practise his emerging language skills.

Joshua enjoys tracing along dotted lines and has made fantastic progress in writing his name. He demonstrates the correct pencil grip and can confidently copy alphabet letters. He particularly enjoys using tactile materials, such as mealie meal, to trace letters with his finger, which strengthens his early writing skills and reinforces letter formation.

Joshua can draw a figure 8 independently and enjoys tracing numbers on the blackboard. He understands the concept that zero represents nothing. He can count confidently from zero to twenty and can also count backwards from ten to zero. Excellent progress! His growing number skills show both understanding and enthusiasm for early numeracy activities.
