When: July 23, 10am CST
Length: 3.5 hours
Add to Calendar

What do prairie chickens need in order to survive today's prairie? This middle school unit covering ecosystems, animal behavior and symbiosis was developed through the Storyline approach. Middle school students will be figuring out why prairie chickens have a very unique dance and understand the role cows play to help ensure the dance takes place. Using this approach, students engage in science concepts to help ensure the survival of the prairie chicken.

Science Coach is a year long PD commitment to teaching your students about research. It has made a dramatic impact on my students and has allowed them to become better researchers. A few of my students have even presented their projects and earned the opportunity to compete at JSHS, Genius Olympiad, and the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The program encourages students of all genders and ethnicity to strive to create great research projects. There are programs especially designed for senior students who have previously participated in the program to earn a research stipend.

More information about the program can be found at the following link: https://hayti-my.sharepoint.com/:b:/g/personal/rodgerst_hayti_k12_mo_us/Ed9ggY1PUhZEjb4emxzGNtABjOdca__iV9ffA66qM_0FrQ?e=femZ0v or click on the picture below.
