Summarize your learning about water molecules and the water compound. Then, record a podcast/screencastify video to share what you've learned with others. Remember that your speech should only last 30 seconds to 1 minute. It is important to add a "shareable" link to your video and make sure people can access your video link by making it public. Please view 3 videos from your friends.

I learned that a compound is a type of matter made out of a combination of 2 or more elements. On the other hand, water molecules are made out of oxygen and hydrogen. Water molecules have 8 electrons in all, 2 electrons in the inner shell and 6 electrons in the outer shell. H2o stands for water. I also learned that if you connect a few water molecules together, you would have a whole water droplet. If you connect a whole bunch of water molecules, then you would have a whole glass of water or even more. Now I am sure you get the idea and learned something.

           Thanks for reading!

By Vanessa Z.

I learned about water molecules and compounds bonding in a science experiment. We used two pennies, a vial of soap, a vial of water, and a water dropper. here are SEVEN facts (because 7 is a lucky number in my opinion) about our main subject... Water Molecules and Compound Bonding.

Fact 1.) Molecules are made up of two elements: Oxygen and Hydrogen.

Fact 2.) A compound is a mix of TWO or more elements from the scientific periodic table.

Fact 3.) When there is a BIG molecule with a small molecule stuck in one.. one combination, it is called... circus tension.

Fact 4.) When a water molecule connects with another water molecule, it is like they have this invisible line. It is called the Hydrogen bond.

Fact 5.) No matter how much drops fall on the penny without spilling, they are still water molecules.( My group got 20 drops onto the penny. That's sad.)

Fact 6.) Water is like...um.. like little people. Say for example there is a war. More people makes the group they fight with stronger right? Water is just like that. Keep adding water till they are invincible!!

Fact 7.) Finally! Almost done. Watch the video made by Vanessa Z. on the bottom of this paragraph. My LAST fact: 1 molecule shares the electrons. Two on the second shell and About most electrons on the Oxygen and a few on hydrogen.
THANKS FOR READING!!!

Thanks for watching!! : ) (If you did.)
Hope you get more info above. :-)

Today, we learned about surface tension, which means that when water drops touch each other, it's because of the molecules. We experimented how many water drops can fit on a penny. My group tested this many times, and the highest we got was about 20 drops.

Also, When there is a big drop of water, there are tiny water molecules together inside, this is called Surface Tension. I have also learned, that when you enough drops of water on a penny, the water just looks like a bubble, this is caused by the water molecules trying hard to not spill. So yay thanks for reading! ^^ ^o^ :D ^^

Edit: In my video I said Circus Tension instead of Surface Tension, sorry about that. :( :\

                        My Video! :D ^^ :3
                                     |
                                     |
                                     |
                                     |
                                    \/

To start with, a water molecule is made up of one Oxygen and two Hydrogen.the reason they form together is because that on the second shell of the Oxygen,it only has 6 electrons but it required 2 more to make it feel complete, this is where the two Hydrogen comes in. A Hydrogen has only one electron and it needs two to make it feel perfect. This is why the two Hydrogens comes in and make the Oxygen's second shell feel perfect. When you get to this part you might have a question of how then each drop of water can form together. It is called a Hydrogen bond because on the first shell of Hydrogen, it needs one more electron to make it perfect so it sticks with another Hydrogen to from a bigger puddle of water. That is about it for my understanding about water molecules.THANKS FOR READING!

-HUGO FANG
