1. Word of the day: teacher displays a word and students have to use it in a sentence.
2. What did you learn today about *specific topic*. This could serve as a summary of a lesson.
3. My favourite part of the story/character. After a story-telling/ reading lesson students write about their favourite part/character etc...
4. Writing a composition: example my favourite food. Students can attach pictures/recipes/write sentences etc...
5. New words: students pick a word from a book which they did not understand, look it up in the dictionary and write it down on the wall with the meaning next to it. They could also attach a picture/gif etc.. This allows students to learn more words.
6. To research a topic & brainstorm ideas : Example underwater creatures: students can include videos, pictures, information etc... then write sentences about it.
7. After an outing students can write about their experience/ attach photos/ drawings etc. This could be shared with other students at school/during assembly or kept as a class memory.
8. Display a problem to the students. They have to find solutions and write them down. Then give feedback/critisism on other solutions and choose the best one/few.
9. Summary of lessons for students. They could then do some research about the topic and attach videos/games/ links/ worksheets etc about it which other students can then work out/read/play etc...

I have experienced using padlet quite a few times. Last year I was taking part in an eTwinning project about Mother's Day with another year 2 teacher. We made two padlets, one for children where they had to input what they liked most in the project about Mother's Day. Another padlet was open for mothers where they had to input their views about the Mother's Day celebration open to them.
This year I repeated similar padlets for a different project about webtools having the children input their favourite web tools and the parent's views regarding the teaching of webtools to their kids.
Different ideas could be for Phonics when introducing a new phoneme and having pupils input words including the particular phoneme taught.
Another idea could be related to rhyming words where they have to write two or three words that rhyme together.
As a brainstorming of ideas about a given topic such as about the colour red where kids can write cherries, tomatoes, berries, lips, lipstick, etc.
A padlet can also be used as a briefing for the teacher where s/he may include various activities planned to be done for a particular topic.

Padlet is another great idea of how to use 2.0 tools in class with kids. This is the first time I tried to use Padlet. These are some of the ideas how I think I can make use of Padlet in class:

Make noticeboards about various information of specific topics (using videos, pictures and links). Children can access it during the weekend to become familiar and knowledgeable about the topic/ theme of the week.

Discuss/ Introduce themes by sharing key vocabulary related to the theme.

Share videos with children which they could discuss about after watching them. Children will then write some notes about what was learnt on Padlet.

Brainstorming, of for example, mathematical vocabulary words. Children can also be challenged to create problem stories with a given sum or using specific mathematical operators. These ideas will be shared on Padlet, then discussed.

Bookmark favourite sites to share with children, which they can make use of to revise educational concepts such as maths games.

Children can search new encountered words and share their findings with others through Padlet, such as scientific words during Science lessons.

After Guided Reading Sessions, children can use Padlet to write some sentences about their favourite character in the story. They can also be asked to write a short summary about what the book was about.

Making a 'My Favourite Books' section in both English and Maltese. Children will write titles of their favourite books individually. This will motivate other children to read books which their friends already read and listed as 'their favourites'.

Children can show their work by taking photos and uploading them. They can also write a brief description of their work.

Padlet is a great tool to be used with the students:
1. Before starting a new book in class, the students can make predictions based on the title page and by skimming through the pages. They can refer back to it at the end of the book. (Can also be done as a prediction of each chapter).
2. Once every two weeks we have a show and tell session. Students can take down notes about interesting facts/things they've learnt through the session while also asking questions and giving positive feedback to the student who did the show and tell.
3. We also have a History Treasure Hunt once a year. Students can use padlet to write down new information which they acquire with each stage they reach. Each stage can also be backed up with photos taken through the whole activity and uploaded on padlet.
4. Padlet can also be used as a class board during research. The teacher introduces the topic and students can share the information they find, add ideas and also discuss together.

I used padlet in a number of ways such as :

1. posting a summary with a picture of their favourite reading book;
2. summarising what they learnt at the end of the day;
3. predict the end of the story and write it on the padlet;
4. encourage students to post useful links related to specific topics;
5. share ideas of how an activity or outing can be improved;
6. Creating stories and other students add to it by adding a note;

I would like to read the other participants responses as I am sure that by sharing ideas we will become more resourceful and practical at the same time.

Another great tool which a teacher can use in class is the Padlet app. Although this is my first experience in using it, in the coming years I intend to use it as described below:
1. To publish children's work. It would be a good idea if the teacher creates padlets for both languages and the students upload their writings. An advantage of this tool is that they can even take a photo of their work.
For instance, this week at our school we celebrated 'Healthy Lifestyle Week' and we created acrostic poems and it would have been a good idea if each group in my class displayed their work on padlet.
2. It is a good tool for the class teacher to write the learning intention and success criteria during the lesson. Then a plenary exercise is carried out with the students and they share what whey would have learnt.
3. In creative writing, padlet serves as a good word wall and other useful vocabulary. Instead of using Padlet as a 'Ticket out the Door' strategy, children can be encouraged to use it in the Editing stage of the writing process where they can leave a positive comment and write a suggestion to the writer.
4. Since it is a collaborative resources, it is an alternative tool to 'Answer Garden' and there is no limit of word count unlike the latter resource.
5. Another idea is that children can share their projects with their friends. For example in a Maltese lesson I used playdough to teach the Imperative and asked students to use 'Animator' in order to create a stopmotion video. Children liked this task and there was a good number that tried it on their own and used their toys at home. It's a good idea if they share their work and display it on padlet.
6. In Maths, it can be used in the 'number of the week' activity or else a teacher can write a story sum and address problem solving strategies. Thus, on the padlet students can discuss ways on how they can solve them. This can be done as group work.
7. Padlet is good for feedback after a school activity or after a school outing.
8. In reading, padlet can be changed into a graphic organiser for book reviews where students can write about the story setting, their opinion about the book, analysing different characters etc...

Children can display their work and share it with their peers, who can add comments and give immediate peer feedback. However, there is a drawback since the teacher will not have immediate access to the feedback given and therefore it is necessary to lay some ground rules and discuss the kind of feedback that can be given beforehand.
Padlet also provides a space where students can display their research and share their findings with others.
It is a tool where shy or reserved children can post safely since it offers them the opportunity to post anonymously.
As a subject teacher, it is rather difficult and time consuming to prepare different chart for different classes. Using the padlet, as a teacher I have the opportunity to design one chart and make it accessible to all the students.

It is ideal because the children can share the link to their padlet and others can view their ideas and work. An example is having children in groups working on different sections of a specific activity. Each group creates a padlet to link items found or write about their journey and then share it with the rest of the class. Like this, each group will be able to see the process that every group was working on.

It is a great resource to be used in class, in fact amongst other ways, it can be used to:

a) Facilitated discussion about any topic

b)      As a brainstorming activity

c)      To share students’ work

d) It is excellent for composition writing

e) To display the children’s researches about a topic

f)       For show and tell

g)      Sequencing writing

h) Writing thoughts about a theme or topic

i)       Book reviews

j)       Instruction writing

k)      Formative assessment

l)       Story writing

m)    Sharing of ideas

Some ways I think Padlet can be used in the classroom include:
-Webquest between a group of students
-Showcasing students' work...even linking it to other online tools
-Brainstorming in class
-Students' can list what they know about a topic at the beginning - prior learning
-Sharing useful links on a topic
- say in PSD create a challenging question and students list their viewpoints in preparation for a debate
- In preparation for a project students share ideas with you prior to actual carrying it out
-teacher can activate the comment feature either to allow for Peer feedback or to provide formative feedback on students' work
-the teacher can also provide audio or video feedback - time is so precious during lesson time that this can help personalize learning.
- after a field trip, students can share photos and videos (not of each other) on Padlet
- show case work that can be anonymous and allow students to reflect on them

Last year I was introduced to Padlet and I have also witnessed its usage. I am sure that using this tool is great fun for children as they can share ideas and they can also see each other's work.
Some ways I would use tablet are the following:
Brainstorming - You can give the children a prompt or a title and ask them to write down the first thing that comes to mind. Later these ideas can be discussed as a whole class.

Questioning - You can ask a question to the children such as a higher order one and let them write what they think.

Introduce a new topic - You can write the title of a new topic or else the title of an understanding text then the children write what they know about that topic/title.

I have once used it during as PSD lesson in which I wanted the children to learn more about each other. I had done the ice breaker 2 truths and 1 lie. In the previous years I used the same ice breakers using pieces of paper but I must admit that the usage of Padlet helped the lesson to be more fun.

Another use is for the children to write compliments about each other during a PSD lesson.

It could be also used during a Math lesson by giving the children a challenging sum and they try to solve it. Then together as a class they can view what the thinking behind their answers was by explaining to their peers.

I would start to say that Padlet is relatively new to me, so I had to do some good reading to understand when, and how such application is used within the classroom setting. One can create a yearly class Padlet to share resources and links based on the topics done throughout the year. Since I am teaching early year I can use Padlet as a class portfolio to share with the parents. In this portfolio one can add all the snapped pictures of the student work, or even video clips of some of the activities done with the students and group working in class.

I will definitely be using Padlet more next year in class whilst allowing the kids to participate more by creating our class Padlet which things that might interest them more.

To be honest, I never used padlet with my students so far, but thanks to this course and from the positive reviews about it from the members, I will surely give it a try next scholastic year.

Since I see my students once a week (becaue I am a subject teacher) I intend to use padlet to post the notes and resources of each lesson on it. This way the students can access my resources and any revision work from home and it can still be available throught the whole scholastic year.
Another thing which I can use padlet for, is to post photos of their work being done in class. This way, I am encouraging them to promote their work and even parents can see what they are doing in class.

I think Padlet is a great resource and so versatile. It is easy to use - and children quickly get the hang of it. On this Padlet wall I read some great ideas on how Padlet can be used. Here are some other ideas:

For getting to know each other at the beginning of the year (pupils post some info about themselves)

It could be used as a simplified 'class blog'

Could be used for working a Maths problem, where pupils try to work out a problem and attach a picture of how they worked it

For lessons such as Shapes / Angles in Maths: pupils search for images, copy URLs to paste into a sticky on Padlet wall

Use as a showcase for children's work (Pupils attach doc to be opened and read on wall)

Debates / Opinions on a topic

Pupils create a Padlet with info / images / links on a certain topic. When ready, they print a QR code to it. together with a title. Pupils can then scan QR codes and view each others' work

Use Padlet for pre-assessment. Use it again at the end of the unit, where they then write what they have learnt

Book discussions

Outings 'blog' with photos of pupils and sticky notes of their experiences

Get well notes for a sick classmate

Birthday walls with photos of birthday kids and wishes written by classmates

Celebration of good Behaviour - post pictures and examples of good behaviour/deeds

Padlet is a free, online "virtual wall" tool where users can express thoughts on topics of their choice. It's like a piece of paper, but on the Web :)
An example is that I can use it in class as it useful for any subject from math to science, Padlet can help me summarize a large amount of information and present it in a visually pleasing way. I can also put in text, photos, graphs and other learning tools and share the image with students before a big test or discussion.
