Clara's video does a great job showing different things many women wear on a daily basis that can be offensive. Women, or however a person identifies should be able to look however they wish, whether it is wearing makeup, dresses, pants etc, no one should be judged for that or their body types. In fact the textbook has a section titled "Dominance Within" and it explains factors of how if a women were to be raped it was because "She was asking for it, (pg. 145) because of males expected dominance and how women's outfits are what men believe show they want it. I came across this article that came out last December and I was instantly disgusted with some of the people in our country. Some of these graphs and statistics are outdated, but they are still horrifying to look at. This is hard for many women of color or especially muslims because of their hijabs. Girls are being sent home for wearing hijabs because it breaks school dress code. It just so happens more of them are female than males. Many people think males need to be doing more masculine jobs and that teaching is more of a women job. In my case I didn't have a male teacher until I was in the 7th grade. This seems to be changing more now. I definitely see more male teaches when I go back to my elementary school now to visit my mom who is a teacher, but still 98% of the paras in that school are still female.
