-Different characters in the poems are the more elder and more youthful cousins, the dad, the professor, the coyotes, the auntie and friend, just as the dog. The more older cousins gave the mother and little girl with trust/faith just as consolation she will be able to make the journey since the older cousins have already made it through before. The more youthful cousins speak to the way of life of their town and that family is all to them and is something that requires to be ensured and esteemed. The dad uncovers how hard the circumstance is on the mother and how losing her girl would be intense. The professor represents all of the poverty and enduring of the town and the sacrifices they have to make to ensure there survival. The coyotes show the risk of the journey, no matter if they can be trusted, they are still outsiders and it is highly unpredictable on what they might possibly do. The auntie and the friend uncover how close everybody is in the town and how they give the girl garments so she will have a superior possibility of enduring the journey. At long last, the dog reveals the mother and little girl's bond and friendship with each other.

-The significance of the different colored bandanas, is that it symbolizes who the daughter can trust and the yellow bandanas represent those trusted ones. That Garcia mentions that she is told to look for yellow because they are known to there village. The color would be hard to miss it would be like a bright light in form of a color. .We know how significant trust and familiar is in the girl's circumstance since she must make a hard journey, and her life is potentially in danger.

-In the start of On Leaving the picture of the girl running with her dog can be viewed as the perseverance to have an effective journey. With On Staying behind the mother comprehends why the little girl is leaving. The two of them realize that they have a superior possibility at discovering openings if the little girl leaves. Indeed, even with all the dangers that are standing out. From the earliest starting point they have been together and as far as possible. The main thing the girl gave up was her canine as an ally to her mom until she can return.
