Rotation means to turn around as on an axis. The Earth rotates about an imaginary line that passes through the North and South poles of the planet. This line is the axis of rotation. The Earth does this once a day. It takes 24 hours to rotate. The effect of the Earth's rotation is that one side of the Earth experiences daylight while the other experiences night.
Revolution is the time taken for a body to go around and return to its original position. It takes Earth 365 days or 1 year to revolve around the sun. The effect of revolution is that it gives us seasons and it makes the length of days and nights vary. https://www.nationalgeographic.org/encyclopedia/rotation/
