This is a tale of the endless clash between two of the strongest beings on earth, this is the tale of Tim and Typhon. Many many aeons ago there was a young boy named Tim but this child wasn’t any ‘Boy’ he was the future king of Olympus the kingdom of the gods. Everybody loved Tim but little did they know for every good and strong thing in the universe there is always an evil to balance it this evil was called Typhon. Typhon was a demon with 100 Dragon heads he was the evil spawn of Gaia (The Earth Mother) and Tartarus (The Hell of The Demons) he was their youngest son and just about as old as Tim. But the only difference between Tim and Typhon was that Typhon was only loved for his incredible talents and strength whilst Tim was loved for being well, Tim. Typhon felt jealous and it is often said that jealousy is what drives anger and anger leads to hate and that is not a good position to be in. So as the jealous brute he was Typhon went to Tim and challenged him to a fight at the pacific ocean Tim agreed but little did he know his next steps would carve his fate into stone. So he met at the arranged place and it started raining hard and lightning and thunder clashed together in the 2 titans fight. They began the fight Typhon swung and swung and breathed his fire all over the ocean but it was an ocean so Tim could simply swim and escape the deadly fire but eventually, both of them became tired and started striking each other with their fists and each time each of their fists hit each other a Typhoon was summoned from the depths of the pacific ocean but even so they got tired and eventually decided to challenge each other the following day but they were evenly matched and the fight could never be won so that same scene kept repeating. So if you ever experience a Typhoon or see one in the news remember that whilst it is happening the king of the gods is fighting to protect the earth.

-Neil 7M2

Many years ago when the human population was about only 1 million people, people were segregated into poor and rich villages and a 27-year-old man on the poor side named Samuel, who had lived a peaceful life went out to search for supplies, for his family. He made his way towards the market but as he walks towards the market he sees a very dishonest man. Samuel walks into the market and the shady man follows him, the dishonest man picks up a knife and then he hides it behind his back. The dodgy man keeps following Samuel, but Samuel noticed that he was being followed but he did not know what to do, so he keeps acting normal but as he picks up the bread he felt a pain and looked down and saw a knife right through him then he collapsed and died. When he rose back up he was up in the skies he walked up some stairs and saw many people grouped up together with wings, then he figured out that he was in heaven. Samuel looked down and saw his old village and noticed it looked new he looked at his family and saw that his two-year-old daughter was 9 years old. He then noticed it took 7 years to reach the top of the stairs but for him, it only felt like 5 minutes. Samuel looked around and saw the person who killed him with a whole family and life. He got filled with madness and a thunderstorm fell upon the city people panicked and a lightning bolt struck the man that killed the assassin. Other angels copied this idea to punish the people who have done bad to them by creating thunder and lightning and others when they got sad because of something sent out rain to signalise to that they are sad about what is happening on earth. Some angels punish people who are doing wrong to other people or the earth by summoning thunderstorms on them.

-that kid

Eons ago, after Papatuanuku and Ranginui were separated, Tawhirimatea, the god of the winds flew with the clouds up a huge mountain where a majestic village resided, he spied a beautiful maiden wearing silk white attire. Tawhirimatea instantly fell in love with the princess, he descended from the heavens and asked her if she would join him for kai (food). The princess graciously accepted the god’s offer. So at sunset that night, Tawhirimatea once again descended from the heavens to pick up the princess. Once nearly making contact with the earth, he flew to the maiden and a cloud appeared at her feet, they flew back up to the heavens; territory of the Tawhirimatea. They made it back to Tawhirimatea’s whare (house) and he invited her to sit and eat. However, Tumatauenga, the god of war, spied on the pair. He smirked maliciously, If I abduct this maiden, He thought, my brother will be enraged and accuse the other gods. This could start a huge war. Without the consent of his brother, he barged into the other god’s whare. The wind god was enraged by this act of dishonor, and screamed at his brother to get out of his domain, the war god was not invited. Instead of leaving, Tumatauenga launched a surprise attack, and jabbed his spear-head into the stomach of the beautiful princess; A lethal blow. The princess, bloody and broken, jerked one time and died in Tawhirimatea’s arms. The war god proceeded to vanish into thin air. Tumatauenga had broken a sacred rule; A divine being may not harm a mortal directly. The god of the winds, too broken by this loss did not notice and carried on weeping, the divine tears of the god formed what we know as rain. So, whenever you see rain, you know from up in the heavens, that the once confident, now depressed Tawhirimatea is grieving for his beloved.

- Max, 7M1

She was known to visit the forest a lot, no one knew why. After many years of rumours on what she could mean to the forest the had knew that she had some type of understanding in the forest, she grew closer to the forest animals and soon lived there and depended on anything on the animals.

However there was this ruler who did not approve of her. Soon every bird did not want her, this was weird because every type of animal did but this one ruler, none of the animals understood why.

Kowhai had woken up to birds around her. She saw animals dead and knew what was going on right away, the bird who was now twice the size of her wanted to fight on who was going to be the ruler of the forest. She agreed, knowing that she would be much of a better ruler than the bird.

When they had gone to the battleground kowhai had lit up. She was glowing and had felt this type of energy in her, this did not let the bird down and was more greedy to win.

They fought intensely for a whole day and to the bird’s reality Kowhai ahd won with major scars and bruises, the land was destroyed to the amount of strength that Kowhai had held in her body. Till this day people believe that when the Earth shakes a bird has hurt or killed an animal.

In the time of the beginning, when large herds of bison roamed the earth and firebirds crossed the sky lived a family of polar bears. They were afraid as they were prey to many of the larger creatures. The earth, brown and dry gave no protection from the flying menace, and the speed of stampeeding bison oft times caught them off guard, causing catastrophy. Many nights, huddled together the family grieved and wondered how they would survive. Many suggestions were made by the eldest of the bears - these seemed to rely on the younger bears sacrificing themselves in a protective ring. Naturally, this was not met with joy or pleasure from the young bears who instead argued it was the job of the elder to protect the younger (they argued this very very quietly though, for great grand-ma bear was very fearsome indeed). At last the smallest of the small suggested an expedition be taken to the top of the world, and from there to the top of the moon and onto the top of the stars to seek whatever help they could find. The other bears scoffed at the youngest of the young, calling them foolish and ignorant. The only one to agree was a small dove who had befriended the kindest of the kind. Together then set out on their journey, travelling by night to avoid the mighty bison and powerful thunderbirds. On and on they walked until they reached the top of the world. Far down below they could see their kin, white spots against the brown earth, so they kept climbing - up to the moon, where the white spots were no more that a foggy haze and then to the top of the stars where even the great firebirds could no longer be seen. At last they sat - and looked around - searching for the help they sought. They were alone, and wearly and sad, the bear began to cry. The dove, sorry to see her friend so upset, nestled close in sympathy. As the dove moved, her tail feathers touched the tender snout of the bear - and caused it to sneeze. In wonder the bear and the dove watched as the tears of the bear were carried away on the breeze of the sneeze and drifted slowly, silently, coldly down to the earth. Far below they could see the white settling on the brown ground, providing shelter and camoflague for the bears and hindering the reckless stampeeding of the bison. And to this day, the bear and the dove sit at the top of the stars, watching over the family, and sometimes, when missing the family so bad it hurts, weeping.

-Miss W

Maya lived in a small village with her parents named ‘Brenvile.’ Maya was a very emotional person. One day when Maya was coming back from school, she looked sad her parents asked her what had happened and she said “I failed the test.“ As she said those words she burst into tears. And within seconds misty grey clouds began to hang overhead and just like that it started to rain. Her parents found it weird that it started to rain as soon as Maya started to cry so they decided to test it out. As Maya entered the door to her house, her parents immediately started to say mean things about her such as “Why are you always failing class?” or “ You seriously wore that to school?” Hearing those words Maya burst into tears. Tears streamed down her face and within moments clouds started to form, raindrops began to fall and before you knew it lighting started to strike then thunder. Her parents tried to calm Maya down but it was no use. She cried until tree in Brenvile was struck with lightning. Eventually she stopped the clouds drifted away and raindrops stopped falling. Maya learnt about her powers and learnt to control them.

-Inayat

Let me explain… Years ago Tane Mahuta would rule the forest, protecting from the smallest plant, to the birds high in the sky. People will chant with glee to the glorious Tane Mahuta when rescuing a bird, deers, and even plants. The respect he gained made him do his job better than ever.

Nowadays, people would never let go of making new dishes with their birds, none understood how it feels having your family eaten. To Tane Mahuta, people were his worst enemies. When people shoot the birds, the bird's wings will flatter with pain as the bird sees his last glimpse of life. Tane would be upset and angry so he would make a crack in the earth, crack gulps people, and makes their hands stretched out to the sky as they see the last glimpse of their lives before they get melted by the earth's core.

- DAT BOi

Many decades ago the god of the skies and earth was watching over a village and its people she was watching them until the sun started to fall. When the moon rose her eyelids felt heavy and soon fell asleep, she woke up by a movement of a fast wind and opened her eyes, she saw 3 flying objects moving around once she got a closer look she realised it was witches and got very mad at them for waking her up, so she clenched her fist and blew the witches away. It was to late she blew so hard that it had caused dark grey clouds to appear right in front of her, soon it had started pouring with big clear droplets of water, not to long after she heard a loud BANG! then saw a flash of light. She jumped at the sudden noise and realised what she had done. She saw some villagers come out of there homes to see the the noise was, she heard loud cries from the children of the village and had felt bad so she tried to stop the lightning but only made it worse and more and more flashes of light came down from the dark clouds, but soon after it had slowly started to stop and the villagers and their children fell back into a slumber. Now when we get lightning we ignore it but some are still scared of it.

-Sophie 7M2

Long ago, there was a maori tribe led by a powerful chief named Tumatauenga. One night, Tumatauenga was preparing for a war. He wanted to win. He needed to win. So he set off into the darkness to find the maori witch who lived in a hut by the beach. Tumatauenga eventually made it to the witches hut, and miraculously, the witch opened the door with her withered hand, with an evil yet still welcoming smile plastered across her wrinkled face. “Come in,” the witch croaked, ushering him to a small, worn out chair. Tumatauenga carefully sat. the witch stared at him, waiting to hear his request. “There is a war that should take place in a few days,” tumatauenga began. “And I need my arrow to be the most powerful of all. Can you help me?” He pleaded. The witch held her intense gaze for a few more moments, before her face lit up, clearly with an idea. “Yes.” she whispered, as she held out her hand for his arrow. Tumatauenga handed it to her, although he didn’t know what she was to do with one of his most prized possessions. She looked at it with an evil grin, then began muttering strange words under her breath. After a minute or so, she stopped, then looked up from the wand to Tumatauenga worried face. She handed the arrow back to him, and Tumatauenga took and bowed his head gratefully, still not knowing what power it held. Soon, the rival chief arrived with his armed tribe. Tumatauenga raised his bow and magic arrow and aimed it at the chief. He shot the arrow, and it soared through the air. As soon as Tumatauenga shot the arrow, he began to feel worried. It had not done anything special. Then, all of a sudden, the arrow burst into flames. Tumatauenga couldn’t believe his eyes. And to this day, it is believed that this is how fire came to be.

norah

Tangaroa, the God of the oceans, lakes and seas was sitting peacefully in his palace. He looked up at the surface of the water. He knew he probably should stay and watch over his kingdom but he hadn’t gone out in a while. He was curious if anything had changed as the world was still developing. Curiosity got the best of him and he got off his throne. As Tangaroa neglected his duties as God of the oceans by leaving his kingdom, He was brought up into the clouds by the God of the Sky. Tangaroa explained that he didn’t mean any harm. Nevertheless, the God of the Sky was furious. He cursed Tangaroa to run around the earth wearing extremely hot slippers for eternity.

Tangaroa was sent back down to the world wearing aforementioned slippers. Along the way he picked up things that he thought would ease the pain. Nothing worked. On his third lap of running a witch noticed him. This witch could disappear and turn into anything she wanted. But when she tried, instead of turning into Tangaroa and taking his place, she transformed into a much colder looking version of Tangaroa.

Tangaroa was all the way on the other side of the earth by now and she was directly opposite to where he would be.

Long long ago there was a god named Zeus. He was the god of rain and his brothers liked to play games such as sun and rain. Sun and rain is like where zeus rains and helios (his brother the god of the sun) tries to dry it up in 5 minutes. One time when they were playing, Helios accidentally hit Zeus with his beam of the sun. Zeus got mad so he started crying so when ever they play helios always hits zeus with his beam of the sun

Long long ago, there was a rumor that a whale that could breathe a red substance was in the sea.
Maui was curious so he rushed to the shore and dived underwater. He saw lots of whales but none
of them looked special. At last, Maui found a bright red whale. Maui told the whale to show him
what he could do. The whale accepted. The whale and Maui went back to shore and the whale
inhaled deeply, then bursted out a red substance. Maui touched it but it burned him. Immediately,
Maui thought that this substace could be used for lots of things in his land. The whale rushed back
into the deep sea but Maui followed him. The whale gave Maui a gaze and Maui asked "May I
please have theat substance that you breathe". The whale immediately denied. At that moment,
Maui went back up to shore, got his magical hook, and scurried back into the deep sea. Maui
offered the whale his magic jawbone and the whale traded some of that substance for the jawbone.
The whale rushed back to shore with Maui and took out a bottle, a black cube, and placed the
black cube into the botthe. The whale breathed into the bottle and told Maui "This is an infinite
source of this. This source will never run out of the substance". Maui thanked the whale and
walked back to the village in his land. He wondered what to name it when he thought of the name
fire. He liked how it sounded so he named it fire. When he came back to the village he showed
everyone the fire and put the bottle in the stone platform in the center of the village so everybody
cound use it. Thats how we today have fire.

honestly idk if my one is even decent

Before the world was formed there Before the world was formed there was a man named Juno, he was very ambitious and demanding. He had lots of people under his rule and he was named a king amongst them, one afternoon a old man to him and said “You do not deserve to be king of this nation!” then 8 other old men came up and started chanting “Kill the king!”. Juno was in shock that someone would even say this to him, he was furious and demanded them to stop this nonsense but they continued chanting. So he decided he had enough of this and used his power to turn the old men into little white glowing orbs. The men did not know that Juno was capable of this power, but little did they know Juno was the descendant of the previous sky god Caelus he was a legend but no one knew he was his son. The 9 orbs that Juno sent into the sky became 9 father stars that helped hold up the night sky when the sun was tired.

Many years ago there was a brave warrior named Maui, he was known for an unordinary ability. Breathing fire, Maui was known everywhere he went and won many battles against the bad. But one day the Maori witch heard about Maui’s ability and grew jealous, she challenged him into a battle up in the mountains, Maui accepted and the next day they went to battle, Maui knew that the witch would be hard to beat because of the fact that the witch almost destroyed there beloved mountains but creating a hole in the center. But Maui had a plan if he was able to get the witch close enough to the edge of the center Maui would be able to push the witch inside and trapping her inside her mess for eternity. As the two were battling Maui began to put his plan in action and ended up winning by trapping the witch with a layer of fire, up until this day the Maori village believes that the reason why there beloved mountains erupts was because the spirits of the witch is trying to push her way out of the
volcano.

There is an old myth that represents why volcanoes erupt. it is a myth that Volcanoes were formed by a God named Ruaumoko and his very best friend named Taniwha. Taniwha was a fire-breathing dragon.
Several people believe that Taniwha was the strongest out of all the dragons in the world. Ruaumoko used to live in the volcanoes and then he goes to sleep for ages. so while he sleeps the volcanoes do not erupt and all the life on the earth goes very smoothly but as soon as Ruaumoko wakes up volcanoes start to erupt. People pray to Rauamoka and his friend Taniwha to stop the volcano eruption so they can be safe and their houses would not be getting destroyed. But to make him do that the god asks people to give him a lot of food and show him a lot of respect so he can stop the volcanoes from erupting.

Interestingly, that's how the eruption of the volcanoes happens according to the myth.

By Harroop
