The tone is  reflective because as the narrator told us about how Steve felt after what the doc had told him. The author used a hopeful tone, in direction to the future, because he says, that acquiring qualities can turn into advantages; that life is still great, even if you are not able to do something anymore. It is the same with the mood, it made me feel happy, that I will have advantages with a qualities I once had, when I just work on them, instead of being sad that they are acquired.
The word choice is calm, because Coelho describes life the way it is. With no use of special words, just simple.

The tone of his "two minute" story, is admiring. He is admiring his memories from the past. He's asking all these questions about what you would do different. The mood of this short story would be curious, because he's wondering what you would do differently in your life, what choices you would've chose instead. The voice of this story had a character's voice on how he viewed the world and everything.
