         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;nuclear energy can be very beneficial because compared to coal it has a greater energy density. they commonly use uranium-235 because it is easier to split. compared to coal, uranium-235 can produce a million times more energy than coal could produce because of it energy density. it has zero carbon emissions which could help the environment. Uranium-235 mainly produces alpha particles and only a little bit of gamma rays. this is very good because gamma rays could destroy you cells and genes and alpha particles can be stopped by a thick sheet of paper<br>&nbsp;The only problem with nuclear energy is the possibility of a catastrophic reaction. also there would have to be people to get rid of the waste produced from the reaction.          <description><![CDATA[<div>An important radioactive isotope used in the medical field is Cobalt-60. Cobalt-60 is used to combat the development of cancer and brain tumors. In order to decay, Cobalt-60 disburses with gamma emissions. If used correctly, Cobalt-60 can be used as radiation therapy to control or kill malignant cells within a cancer patient. With Cobalt-60, doctors can avoid surgical procedures when it comes to brain tumors. They can do this because the radiation doesn't have to be in direct contact with the tumor.
