Larry, if I had to think of one word to describe you it would be kindness. In the several years I have been a member of the club i have seen you deal with members, potential new members, walk-ins, and even the nearby homeless; and without fail you have treated them with kindness and respect, going so far as to bring in breakfast sandwiches for the homeless folks who camp out nearby. You've also created an incredible staff to include Harry and Chris who exude the same warmth and kindness that you do while pouring their heart and soul into keeping the club in tip-top shape. Thanks to all of you, and let's not forget the Board, for making the ATC a uniquely special place.

My tennis friends suggested that I join ATC a few years ago and I could not be happier about my decision to join!

The clay courts are great and it’s been so much fun playing there and taking advantage of the lessons that are offered. The opportunities to meet and play with new people are numerous.

Dear Larry,

I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciate our friendship. It’s hard to believe it’s been 23 years since I first came to Albany and wandered into Elm Park to play tennis—that’s when I met you, and I’ve been grateful ever since.

From the very beginning, you were incredibly kind to me. You’ve been a coach, an advisor, and a hitting partner—all rolled into one. But more than anything, I’ve truly enjoyed our conversations. You’re a super nice person, and spending time with you on and off the court has always been a pleasure.

Honestly, I can’t imagine our ATC club without you. You bring so much warmth, wisdom, and energy to the group. I’m already looking forward to seeing you next season!

Hey Larry,

Albany Tennis Club inspires friendship; enjoyable, fair play (sometimes even "great play" if my serve is working - HAHA!); and the joy of being out moving around in the sun. You are, and always have been, a huge reason for all of that! I know we are all grateful for the physical, logistical, and administrative stuff that you do, but I feel especially blessed - as are so many of us - to call you a dear friend and know you to be the true embodiment of the "ATC spirit". Maybe our paths will cross at Tri-City this winter. If not, maybe a nice lunch sometime in Delmar.
