I'm a volunteer from Tasmanian Conversation Trust. I'm here to alert you all about the beauty of Tasmania the ' fairy penguins '.Yes those which are very cute.

But have been unfortunately trapped in the illegal dumping of oil because of which their feathers get clogged by threatening oil.

Just imagine the little penguins with clogged feathers. It's a request to all because this is the last chance to save the beauty of Tasmania.

If knitting some woollen jumpers in your free time can save nature for the upcoming generation. Please we want the support of everyone cause the nature belongs to all no matter what colour your skin is no matter if we don't share the same religion or language. But we do share the earth.

Now the life of those innocent happy feet are in your hands . It's an appeal to all to help penguins to stay alive because now their lives depends on your decision

Hoping for a positive response. I now put the decision on you whether to save the fairy penguins or just let them die. Decide as fast as possible because time doesn't waits for anyone

I would like you’ll to close your eyes and imagine that you and your family are on a trip to Tasmania where you’ll enjoy and have a nice time playing with these cute little fluffy birds known as penguins. Now imagine those penguins in a sweater. Ya! You heard me right in a sweater. These cute little flightless birds are getting extinct day by day and these penguins in Tasmanian penguins are known as the fairy penguins. These penguins are getting extinct because of illegal dumping of oil in the sea and this sea is the hunting grounds for most of the Tasmanian penguins and here the feathers of these penguins gets clogged with life- threatening oil! Awful right?!

Volunteers from the Tasmania Conversation Trust cleaned up striken penguin but still the ‘fairy penguins’ were still going straight back into the oil slick to fish in their familiar hunting grounds. This was huge problem and now these penguins were still starting to get extinct this means that we wouldn’t be able to see them back again. Sad right?

But then one of the volunteers had the idea that the flightless birds could be saved by the use of woollen sweaters and therefore an appeal was printed and now they are safe but the beauty of them is lost.

You’ll must be thinking why woollen sweaters. Woollen sweaters is the right choice that could be made because wool is naturally water repellent and also when the fibres become wet, a chemical reaction takes place which heats up causing the penguin body to be warm. As you’ll feel that woollen coats are not good , the penguins also don’t like it but this coat which covers them from neck to ankle stops preeming themselves and ingesting poisonous oil causing them to survive in these conditions.

So far now the future of the penguins is safe but I would love that if you’ll knit sweaters for these sweet little flightless birds and helping them survive and also take action about the illegal dumping of oil in the hunting grounds of the penguins.

Good morning! So you might have heard about the sticky feathers of the fairy penguins of Tasmania. It feels very sad to hear about the illegal dumping of oil in the sea where the hunt and live. They were on the verge of getting extinct in 2001 but the Tasmanian Conservation Trust cleaned up the stricken penguins but later found out that they keep going back to the sea with the life threatening oil.
So all you have to do to save these fairies is knit some sweaters! Yes you heard me right! And you might be wondering as to how the sweaters would help. The wool is naturally water-repellent and prevents the oil from reaching their skin. Also, the wool reacts with water to provide warmth to the penguins.
The penguins aren't very happy about these sweaters, but will eventually get used to it. The organizations have received quiet alot of sweaters. So to sum it up, please contribute by knitting some sweaters to protect our cuddle partners from getting extinct. The size of one sweater should be around 40cms and for further information, please check out the website made by the organization.
