         <description><![CDATA[<div>I'm not going into the mechanical stuff of how the turbines started but i'll try to explain it in a simple way. On 25th of April, 1986, a reactor went berserk, the operators&nbsp;did not survive the radiation that was released instantly. Radiation material was released into the atmosphere in large amounts of particles and stayed there for 10 days. The damage caused in Chernobyl had a serious impact on the Soviet economy and the some of the radioactive substances went as far as Western Europe.</div>]]></description>
