Having rubbish sit around in a landfill is serious business as items that are contained within a landfill release toxic gases like methane as they begin to decompose. Methane is one of the main causes of global warming and climate change.

 We pollute our surroundings with all kinds of chemical waste from factories and power.
 Scientists are worried that the gases released by factories and vehicles are even changing the atmosphere

-Atmospheric pollution : chemicals called CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) damage the ozone layer that protect us of sun' s ultraviolet radiation 

_Accidental pollution: when a ship leaks oil and creates a huge oil slick in the ocean causes damage to the enviroment and kills millions of fish and seabirds
_traffic pollution :substances like carbon monoxide,carbon dioxide ,and nitrogen oxides are very harmful and causes acid rain and the called photochemical smog
