All I think of when I think of him, we’ll there are two things. The first is his bright smile and the second is his testimonies over the years I’m Berkeley and Vallejo. He’d often just say “I LOVE YOU!” while pointing his finger at the people and then the ministry. I always knew his love ran deep and it wasn’t just words. He was a doer of the word. Jesus said “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
B. Chris truly fulfilled both commandments and his example will never be forgotten.

What stood out to me is how he handled the situation. Every time his name is mentioned I’d go back to that time because with such great care kindness love and a smile he addressed the situation so well that we, including the server were able to enjoy being in company. Best friends. They are very special people in our lives. They are there through life’s joys and sorrows. They are there for good and bad times. They can be thousands of miles away and still be there for each other.  Even though we have many friends, we give more preference and importance to a “best friend”.

Chris, you are that “best friend”. We shared over millions of memories, tens of thousands of jokes, and too many good times. You have always been there for me as I was always there for you. We brought out the best in each other. It brings me great sorrow that you are gone. When I heard of your passing, I was devastated! I was never going to get a chance to see you again. I was never going to see your big grin or hear your infectious laugh again. In your passing, you have enabled both your friends and family to share their tributes and memories of you. Rest in power, my friend.

My condolences to wife Michelle, daughter LaShawn, son Chrishaun, granddaughter Miyana, brothers Howard (and Jenell) and Michael (and Juleeau), nephew Eric (and Marva), niece Stephanie and sister Ann.
