I don't know the rule for a national performer, but I am sure that to get respect from a country, the national performer must respect the country's law. I personally think that the way Good Vibes Music Festival host dealt with the issue was inadequate, as it caused a chain effect to the hawkers that are planning to provide their services. The hawkers, licensed or unlicensed, were deprived of the opportunity to do business at the festival venue. This violated the "well-being" of said hawkers. They should have limited the ban to only the 1975 band members, not shutting down the whole event.

I also felt that the performers were immature in their wanting to express their discomfort toward Malaysia's Constitution and their sexuality. When performing internationally, they are expected to have accountability in protecting and preserving their national pride. Instead, they made an unnecessary showing of they so-called "Pride" and made a stand for their sexuality, all the while trampling on and insulting Malaysia's Constitution against homosexuality. Although there were differences of worldview and philosophy between the groups involved, 1975 showed utter disregard and disrespect toward a foreign nation's sovereignty, yet expecting empathy and sympathy from Malaysians that are in the alphabet community (LGBTQIA+).

This also caused international disputes to happen, causing unrest and disharmony to people around the world. All in all, I am unsatisfied with what happened in the incident and I hope that people would settle future disagreements in opinion in a more civilized and peaceful way.
