It may be used to address failures to meet specific job goals or to address behavior-related concerns. Prior to a supervisor initiating a PIP, the Chief People Officer will be notified to approve a PIP is the appropriate action and to support the implementation of the PIP process. Additionally, the director of the department should review the PIP initiation letter prior to the plan being initiated.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Ebony-Meal and Rest Period PolicyUrban Initiatives strives to provide a safe and healthy work environment and complies with all federaland state regulations regarding meal and rest periods. Check with your supervisor regarding proceduresand schedules for rest and meal breaks. Urban Initiatives requests that all employees accurately observeand record meal and rest periods.Meal breaks of at least 20 minutes, but not to exceed 45 minutes, are mandatory for all non-exemptemployees who are scheduled or required to work a shift of at least 7.5 hours. Typically, your break willbe scheduled to start after you have completed four hours of work, but in no event will it be scheduledmore than five hours after your shift starts. If you are scheduled to or anticipate working at least 7.5continuous hours, you must ensure you take a break. If you know in advance that you may not be able totake your scheduled break or meal period, let your supervisor know; in addition, notify your supervisor assoon as possible if you were unable to or prohibited from taking a meal or rest period.For exempt employees, one meal break per day will be paid by Urban Initiatives of at least 20 minutes butnot to exceed 45 minutes.For non-exempt employees, one meal break per day will be paid by Urban Initiatives of up to a max of 20minutes. Any meal break over 20 minutes, or additional breaks, will be unpaid.Accommodations for Nursing MothersUrban Initiatives will provide nursing mothers reasonable paid break time to express milk for their infantchildren for up to one year following the child&#39;s birth.If you are nursing, you will be provided with a space, other than a restroom, that is shielded from viewand free from intrusion from co-workers and the public. If you are in the office at 650 West Lake Street,this location is located in the front privacy of our office suite.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Documentation is so critical. This feels familiar with teaching too - can't call a parent about behavior concerns if you haven't actually documented anything. Additionally, I had to go through the process of expelling a student and the school had to provide months of documentation, interventions attempted, etc.&nbsp;<br>2. I liked getting to practice with the scenarios in the video, and often it felt like the right answers were "common sense" - however, I'm more nervous about doing this in the moment.&nbsp;<br>3. It really reminded me to make sure that I have the handbook easily accessible - either in hard copy or starred on my drive. <br><br></div>]]></description>
