The team Sarawak representing the Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah emerged victorious in the VVIP boat race final of Sarawak Regatta 2017 yesterday in Kuching on 19th of November. 

Ahead of the respective first and second runners-up, which were the teams representing Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and deputy Chief Minister lll Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. 

Team Landas 11 was crowned Sarawak Regatta 2017's Raja Sungai (king of the river). First runner up was Yayasan Sarawak, placing third was Landas 31.

The son of an Amanah top leader has been arrested by police, after being caught with 200 'pil kuda' (methamphetamine pills).

The 29-year-old suspect was detained at a home in Kota Bharu, Kelantan yesterday.


Utusan Malaysia reported that the arrest was confirmed by Kota Bharu district police chief Ismail Mat Sidik.

"The suspect has been remanded for four days starting today to help with investigations into the 200 pil kuda found in his front right pocket," Ismail said.

Green Master Plan Launched 
Datuk DR Maximus Johnity Ongkili recently launched the new master plan to reduce carbon emission a increase energy efficiency. 
He was quote saying that the initiative will make wa for economic needs as well as making the planet green. He also added that the move will generate more job opportunities for the future. 
This is in line with the aspirations made for TN50, that is also making Malaysia one of the pioneers in the green movement globally. 
The launching was made known at the conference of green technology in KL with the theme 'powering green cities' the 8th edition. 
The conference was successful in bringing together over 25 thousand people from over 20 countries,and was held for 3 days. 
The international conference is a product of collaboration between Petronas Dagangan Berhad, TNB and Greentech Malaysia. Together,they are expected to bring positive changes throughout the nation with th established memorandums.

The incident happen at 2.17 a.m make the victim, Nik Nazrul Hisyam died on the scene.
The incident happen when a car drive by a teenager make a turn before crash with his motorcycle.

It's a good news for security guard family because they get help from goverment under National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) to having a new house.  This project get attention from fire fighter (JPBM). Actually, their house was destroyed by fire in 2011. The residential assistance is worth RM50,000 built on their site of their old home. This goverment assistance has eased their burden. Their acceptance to the Program Podium next year is happily received by national mens' hockey, however the team under the head coach Stephen Van Huizen didn't feel comfortable with it instead he sees it as their biggest challenge. 
It is not the time for 'honeymoon' instead they have other important mission through three major tournaments next year which are Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia (April), Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia (Ogos) and World Cup 2018 in Bhubaneswar, India on November next year.

A group of scientists discovered an ancient 26,000-year-old skull found in the Dali district, Shaanxi province. The skull is named Skull Dali in honor of the name of the place. There are other skulls found in the 1960's Jebel Irhound Cave as same as the Dali skull. Because of the similarities scientists conclude that the origins of asians come from africa. Whipped for breach of trust

KUALA LUMPUR - A massage shop manager jailed for 12 months, fined RM10,000 and twice strokes by Sessions Court for a criminal breach of trust amounting RM19,437 for personal purpose last month. 
Judge Hasbullah Adam pronounced the sentence against Chow Wen Kiat, 38, after he pleaded guilty to the charge over him as read by the court interpreter. 
The court ordered the accused to undergo the sentence starting yesterday and three months more in prison if he failed to pay the fine. 
The single accused pay the fine.
According to the charge, Wen Kiat as the manager of the company entrusted to him a sum of money of RM19,437 has committed a breach of trust using the money for personal purpose. 
The offense was allegedly committed at Fifty Five Studio Healthy Centre,No.2 Residency of unggul Kepong, Vista Mutiara 1 Sentul Street here between 26 October and 30 October ago.
He will jailed for 14 years and whipped according to the section 408 of the penal code. Deputy Public Prosecutor, Farah Nurdinie Bahrum asked for fair punishment since this is a serious case.
His offense was really vile as he breach of trust against the money that has been entrusted to him. Due to this matter, the company has loss and the money even have been used for gambling. Wen Kiat begged for lighter punishment as he still need to take care of her 65 years old mother. According to the case fact, the complainant who is the manager of the company have called the defendant to ask about the money but unfortunately failed. Then after the result of the revision, the complainant find out that the money did not credited to the company account.
