Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It’s my pleasure to welcome everyone to our beautiful venue tonight ! 

I would like to extend a special welcome to our guest of honour, Ms. Dupont, who is, as we know, a passionate fan of music from the 1980s! Isn’t that right, mrs? 

We are all very happy to be back together in the 80s thanks to the music!

During these fantastic few hours we will all go back to the 80s, years of carelessness, of freedom, which our parents took advantage of and evoke today nostalgic memories that we will finally be able to know.It’s time to revive all these great artists: Michael Jackson, Jean-Jacques Golman, ABBA, early evening, Johnny Hallyday, Bob Marley, Michel Sardou and many others.

We thank Mrs Dupont without whom this evening, and this speech, would not have taken place !...

The hungry will find the buffet in this same room from 8 pm.

We will meet in half an hour in the next room for the first music "Take on me" !!! 

I can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!

I hope this evening will amuse you and that you will discover, will return for the older ones, in the 80s!!!!

I am delighted to see so many of you tonight ! We are gathered today for a return in the past, accompanied by the greatest : Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Tupac or Madonna. As you can see, this evening is about a very important period that is real success today : the 80s. Nostalgia, dance and laughter will be at the present. And as Phil Collins says : « Do you remember » will be the question we will ask ourselves as we reflect on this festival. I hope you will have fun and remember that "there is no season for live music in the background, no season for live sound". For some, you will find your youth and others the youth of your parents.But, as we all know, music is one of the best ways to bring together all generations. Do not forget that alcohol is to be consumed with moderations but the buffet is at will 

I thank you very much for coming and listening to me. Now I invite you to join the dance floors. Still, do not let yourself be dragged up to insomnia by the ghosts of boredom.

The greatest artists, the most sung titles, your favorite songs to dance and ambience your parties !

Obviously we have all night and another week if necessary to go in all styles of the 80's : pop, rock, jazz, electro, french song ! 

All the fans and children of these years will relive this time in music ! And nothing better than music to revive memories and have a good time !

From Michael Jackson to Gilbert Montagné, ABBA, Madonna and Kenny Loggings or even Queen, ACDC, Téléphone, Céline Dion, France Gall, the Police, TOTO... I don't have the breath to name them all…

I don't want to waste any more time, I see more and more people getting impatient in the public.

I welcome you to this “Throwback to the 80s” festival, which is important to everyone here. It is true that we cannot go back in time to live a time that some did not know but we can bring this time to us!

And this thanks to all its heritage such as music, outfits and styles so particular.

When we think of the 80s, we think of disco evenings with groups of young musicians who rehearse in garages, eph leg pants without forgetting the essential hairstyles! But where do all these images and perhaps these clichés come from? How can we think of all this without necessarily having experienced it? This is where you will tell me that Google is my friend, and of course! but it’s not all about that, in any case I hope for you.

It is thanks to our parents, our family and our entourage who tell us about their own experiences in this time. Just stories are able to make us travel, so imagine a whole festival!  It reminds me of an anecdote; one day a friend’s parents organized a disco party at their house and we had to dress up. What better disguise than to put on the parents' own clothes when they were young. They were really iconic outfits and we came back in one fell swoop in those crazy years. We put ourselves in the shoes of the characters of the 80’s to travel in this time.

So I have only one thing to say to you to open this festival “Back to the 80s”, that is waiting for you: put on your outfits and let live again these beautiful years of madness!!!

You will dance and sing with Madonna, NWA , Queen and Michael Jackson.

Get ready to sit in your car in front of a gigantic cinema screen to watch monuments of the cinema such as Shining for maximum shivers and horror or Indiana Jones and the latest crusade for adrenaline adventure with a touch of humor or else The Boom to relive your first love emotions in high school. 

Forget for a moment your smart phone to be fully with us.

Don’t lough about our way of clothing and brushing : that’s the eignties’ fashion !!!

We are proud of our look, even if our colours are so flashy, that you need’nt open the lignt to see everybody in the dark !!!

My indigo t-shirt is a very rare piece with the printed poster of the first ABBA concert, I matched it with my flowery trousers and my visor cap without forgetting my fashionable Elton John glasses with rhinestones and heart shape . 

So come with us and enjoy our way of life so funny and creative.

This festival is unique in the world. You will live during three days in the 80’s. Smartphones are forbidden and you must dress like people used to dress up the 80’s. You will travel in time. During these three days you will see your favorite stars come back to life on stage: For example, Eurythmics with the famous song: sweet dreams!! And Madonna will be here. We bring here to you some of the most famous stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jordan and we also organize some games, a Tamagotchi tournament and Tetris and Pac man tournaments! For a free beer you have to come with a mullet and for ten free shots you have to dance like Mickael Jackson.

I hope you will enjoy the festival and all the different activities that we propose.

The 80’s were a time of great pop culture including some of the best movies and music. Before the 80’s music had been rock-based. Heavy metal was more prominent in the 70’s, and pop music had always been around, but the 80’s brought some new variations we didn’t have before. When you think of the 80’s you think of Michael Jackson, Madonna and U2 but we were introduced to Hi pop, New wave, House music and Punk Rock. Disco and ABBA were replaced by more synthesizer-based and electronic production.

Tonight the best of the 80’s are going to sing for you or almost like the original groups. You’ve been waiting for this for forty years and you are so excited to relive your best memories with a fantastic live concert.

 

            Yeah this year to begin the festival, for the first time we have the chance to welcome the great dancers which is led by Julia Bonne, yeah we all agree that they are probably the best dancers of western Europe, she said to me that they came with an incredible choreography, yeah we’re all waiting to see the show, they will start with the essential “Billie Jean” By Micheal Jackson, a timeless classic, and the following part of the show is a surprise. Tomorrow it will not be about the dance but It will be about the voices and not only the singers one but all of our voices!!! So don’t drink or smoke too much the first day but the second, catch up and if you’re sick with the alcohol please head towards Aristide !! We’ll have the pleasure to sing AC/DC, U2, Whitney Houston and a lot of others!!

The final part will be the unavoidable “never gonna give you up” played for 1 hour straight.

 This year we are proud to present you a ton of amazing artist like David Bowie, Mickael Jackson, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Daniel Balavoine, etc… During this incredible show you will be able to drink a lot of alcohol and finish on the ground like me at every party … But my favorite artist is obviously Gilbert Montagné with his beautiful sunglasses and my favorite song “Sous le sunlight des tropiques”, this song reminds me the good old times when I was on the beach, young and charismatic, this time is over but let's take advantage of this wonderful music to remind us of good memories.

But now enough talking, let’s go for the start of the show. We’re begin with this magnificent song of Michael Jackson, “Beat it” to warm us up. I see you later and I hope you will have a good time during this event !!

Now what exactly is a throwback to the 80’s festival? It’s simple, it’s a normal festival, but if you attend it you will find yourself surrounded by every piece of clothing, accessory or even object that you can think of that were top notch quality and style at the time: the « must haves » of the 80’s. So along with lots a lights and music at every corner, a « throwback to the 80’s » festival is mostly a nostalgia hotspot for the older generations.

Now as you could tell, I am very young and I was born in the early 2000’s and I find a particular interest in those old items from the past years. So no matter your age, this is a festival for you.

In order to resurface your deepest forgotten memories, tonight you will be hearing some of the best 80’s bands, along with the typical boy bands that we’re all the rage. In addition to the music, all night long you will be able to go through « nostalgia stands » where are displayed items ranging from children’s toys to 80’s modern technology. Furthermore, we are thrilled to be welcoming some of the most famous celebrities of the 80’s who will be making appearances throughout the festival.

Thus I am honored to be welcoming you all to the one and only throwback to the 80’s festival, hoping you will be able to attend another one in the near future (that is if you aren’t in a retirement home by then).

You still have in mind the image of Madonna, Michael Jackson...You have tears in your eyes when you think back to all those evenings you spent!  You still remember the dance moves you used to do in the 80s, because tonight I want to see you dance the maddison… I want you to be the rhythm in your skin and to be a period outfit.

 Ha!  80s nostalgia, when you hold us!  Do you want to dive back into this cult decade, to find the singers of the 80s that you loved so much?

 Above all, I want you to have fun and take advantage of this return to the past.
