This is my basket. People have been doing basket weveing for thousands of years to make baskets for carrying food, storing things, or just for fun. You start by making a strong base, then you weave other pieces over and under to build up the sides. I also used beads on my basket. It takes some patience and practice, but the results can be really cool.
