1. Does feel a bit cumbersome and could benefit from agility? Is it overly bureaucratic I feel like there is flexibility, but it lacks speed in that flexibility? This is probably more about the system of apps - rather than BD

In another NFP, I saw a collaborative leader, who gave the power completely to facilitators to get their own gigs, but gave them resources and support to grow locally, and invited them into international projects, where funding was achieved and the work could be shared, which sometimes leads to more work.

The client does not always know what is best. We have different expertise from them and can add value by exploring deeper needs etc. We are good at this!

Making offers to the client that are aligned and relevant to their needs – beyond their request. This is when I’ve done my best BD – eg Australia Post – I’ve been able to see behind the expressed need. It’s usually a big relief for the client and then they think I’m magic.

AND nurturing the relationships and becoming a trusted advisor. This is where I get my repeat business, welded on clients and new referrals. The best referrals are client to client in my experience.
