Swivl is a super useful recording tool. You can record yourself teaching or you can record student groups as they make presentations.

Swivl works on its own--all you need is a device--I use my iPad (No iPad? You can use mine...it's all set up for Swivl). Swivl works with any device--you just need to install the app.

Swivl is really cool! The person being filmed wears a "marker" which records audio and is a remote for the device. Swivl automatically follows the marker, so this is essentially hands-free recording.

Swivl automatically processes and uploads recorded videos to the app. Swivl also provides easy editing tools. Videos can be shared with anyone via a weblink--even if the other person doesn't have the Swivl app.

Check out the 1-minute video clip below of Mr. Ordiway using Swivl to record his lesson to put in Classroom. He is wearing the "marker" around his neck--remember--that marker does several things: it's a microphone, a remote (so he can start and stop recording directly from the marker), and it tells Swivl what to capture on video (wherever Mr. Ordiway moves, Swivl moves).

Let me know if you'd like to learn more about Swivl or give it try!
