The teacher on my campus will use them as follows: The first time in Chapter 11 Lesson 2.  Use slides 1, 2, and 4 for her groups.  She has divided up her students and will give a mixed group each of the thinking icons. Struggling students will get Language of the Discipline, Bubble kids get Details, High Achievers get Patterns.  They will read through the Day 2/3 reading with this lens and complete their page.  Then, share as a group and create a “Big Idea” together as a group.


The second time is Chapter 12 (Maybe lesson 2).  Same thing, except instead of the Patterns icon, the high achievers will get the Change Over Time icon.  Same process.
