I chose this article because it has the numbers of deaths, ages of people who died, how many injured people, how many shootings the US has had etc. This website collects and checks for accuracy, comprehensive information about gun-related violence in the U.S. and then they post it online.

 

This is a scary thing to think about. A parent should not have to worry about sending their child off to school or to a public place and for them to not come home. No parent should EVER have to worry about this.

 

Enough is enough. How many more shootings, how many more lives do we have to lose in order for the government to start enforcing stricter gun control.

 

It talks about 4 of the biggest mass shooting in 5 decades that happened in 2018. All these shootings and Trump and the government are not doing anything about it. 

 

The shooting that took place Wednesday night in Thousand Oaks at the Borderline Bar and Grill, which left 13 people dead, including the gunman became the 307th mass shooting on the 311th day of the year.

 

"Some of the victims of tonight's mass shooting in Thousand Oaks are also survivors of last year's Las Vegas massacre. Gun violence in our country is so frequent that people are becoming survivors of MULTIPLE mass shooting incidents. That is COMPLETELY unacceptable." (Bawbby. @toddsire_, 2018)

 

It’s scary that this is the reality in the US. That this is the reality of the people who were survivors of last year’s Las Vegas shooting to be survivors of the Thousand Oaks shootings and survivors of last year’s Las Vegas shooting to be victims of the Thousand Oaks shootings. They shouldn't be subjected to this violence ONCE, much less TWICE. And in a span of 13 months. 

Enough is enough.

 

It talks about what mass shooting, where it was, who was involved and if the shooter was killed or committed suicide during the horrible incident. 

 

The information about the mass shootings are from each year that they are classified as the deadliest mass shootings in US History. They should have enforced stricter gun control when the first few mass shootings happened. 

 

But even today when the Thousand Oaks shooting being the 307 mass shootings in 311 days of 2018, they still have not done anything to the gun law. 

 

Having 307 mass shootings in 311 days should have been a red flag that change needs to be made.

 

The article has survivors and family members of victims from six previous mass shootings talk about what they do after each new incident, how they make sense of the country’s response to these shootings, what do they want to see change, how they cope with the intense coverage of the latest incident and the silence when the news cycle suddenly moves on.

 

Each of the people in the article are affected by some of the mass shootings in US History. They have continued to live their lives and are seeing more mass shootings happening and are seeing that there has been no change in gun control.

How many more shootings, how many more lives do we have to lose to start enforcing stricter gun control. 

 

There shouldn’t be that big of a number about mass shooting in the US or ever. 

 

Canada has a a strict gun law and we've only had some mass shootings. But the US has had a mass shootings every month and every week in the same month.

 

This needs to stop.

 

They are using their voices by telling their stories on how their lives were changed on February 14 2018.  "The fact is that gun violence is still prevalent in our society. We’re going to be fighting for this until it’s fixed.” (Emma González, 2018).

 

They are making a huge impact on everyone’s lives with this movement, so many people are part of this movement. 

 I chose this article because it talks about how many mass shootings there have been and how many people have been shot dead in 2018. The Gun Violence Archive has recorded a total of 48,959 gun violence incidents so far this year, leading to 12,476 deaths and 24,236 injuries.

 

The article lists the gun attacks that happened so far in 2018 from January 12, 2018 to the recent mass shooing on November 8, 2018.

 

The numbers that are shown are so horrible to see and so horrible to know that this is a reality for people who live in the US. 

Change needs to happen so this won’t continue to be their reality. They shouldn't have to have their lives impacted by the shootings every month.
