Children develop through listening to stories read aloud during preschool years and learn about the way stories are organize and the devices used. Have them retell stories or draw diagrams, and eventually write stories. Students investigate how authors use devices. They can retell stories during class collaboration, oral reading, retelling with pictures or writings.
