Fret - when you push your finger down on a string within a fret, it reduces the length of vibration, thus creating a pitch
Headstock - Houses the tuning pegs
Neck of the bass - Joins the headstock and the body of the bass, at the top of the neck near the headstock is a little bar with grooves for each string called the nut
Body of the bass - Serves as base attachment for different parts of the Bass guitar
Tuning keys - Turning the pegs changes the pitch by tightening or loosening the string. Tightening the strings makes the pitch go up; loosening the strings makes the pitch go down.
Bridge -  where the strings end at the bottom of the bass guitar
Pickups - Often there are multiple sets of pickups in different positions. The different placement causes each set to get a different sound from the strings. By changing the balance between the different pickups, you can adjust your tone.

    On the guitar you can learn different chords and also plucking the strings which is more advanced. The main purpose of the guitar is to transfer the vibration from the strings to the sound board.  

    Some complexities of playing the guitar is quickly changing chords from one to another and also having long nails (which is what I have right now). Having long nails makes it harder for you to play the strings cleanly and also reaching them.

    -Headstock(also known as the head of the ukelele): This is the top of the ukelele, the part which is furthest away from the body of ukelele. This part holds the tuners. This part of the ukelele is required to be strong to support the tension of the strings and tuners.
    -Tuners(also known as pegs, tuning keys etc.):The top end of the string is threaded through the tuner and then the tuner is turned, causing the string to tighten or loosen, depending on what way you turn. 
    -Nut: The nut is the small ridge in between the headstock and the fretboard that the strings rest on. The nut has small notches on it which keep the strings evenly spaced at the top of the ukulele. The nut also elevates the strings off the fretboard by a few millimeters so that you can play the ukulele by pressing down on the strings.
    -Fretboard: The fretboard is the front surface of the neck, beneath the strings. Usually the fretboard is colored black. A good fretboard needs to be strong and perfectly smooth so that it can be glued exactly onto the neck.
    -Neck:The neck is the piece of the ukulele located behind the fretboard. It is curved from side to side to allow the ukelele players hand to cup around the neck and fingerboard comfortably.
    -Frets:The frets are the small bars that are hammered into the fretboard at very specific intervals. The frets stick out a little from the surface of the fretboard so when a finger is placed behind a fret, the fret stops the string instead of the finger itself. 
    -Fret markers: Fret markers are little inlaid white 'dots' on the fretboard, though fret markers can sometimes be other shapes and colours too. These little dots help you to find your way from one note to another, and are particularly helpful when moving larger distances up and down the fretboard.
    -Body: The body of the ukulele is the main part and comprises of a back piece, sides and a front piece. The body of the ukulele is important as it amplifies the sound of the vibrating strings. As such, much of the tone of the ukulele is dependent on the body.
    -Sound hole: Located under the strings in the body of the ukulele, the sound hole is a round hole that projects out the sound that reverberates inside the ukulele body. When you are playing the ukulele, if you strum over the sound hole you will produce the loudest sound, whereas if you strum down or up the strings further, the sound will be much quieter. 
    -Strings: Metal-wound strings are used on these ukuleles in order to create a fuller tone on the lower strings of the instrument. Sometimes ukuleles are strung with steel strings like the top strings on a common steel-string guitar, although steel strings can damage most kinds of ukulele, and they produce a much different tone.
    -Saddle: The saddle of the ukulele performs much the same function as the nut, except it is located in the bridge, down the bottom end of the string. The saddle raises the strings to the right height needed to keep them consistently distanced from the fretboard, right the way to the nut.

    • Reed - The reed is also known as the sound generator of the saxophone. It functions the same way the human vocal cords function in the body. It is held in place on the mouthpiece using the ligature. The sound produced by the reed might be distorted if it doesn’t stay in place.

    • Mouth Piece - The mouthpiece holds the reed in place in order to produce sound. It is the part that is blown to produce sounds. When you blow air into the mouthpiece, without touching the other parts of the sax, it produces a shrill, high-pitched sound.

    • Neck - The mouthpiece is held in place by the neck of the saxophone. The neck joins the mouthpiece and the body of the sax. When the mouthpiece is blown, the air flows through the neck to get to the body of the sax where the sound is changed to produce different notes. The saxophone neck is believed to work the same way the human neck works.

    • Body - The body of the sax is called the resonance chamber. The sound that enters the body from the neck vibrates and is amplified. This is where the player holds the keys on the body to change the length of the air column to create different notes. Long air columns produce lower notes than shorter air columns.

    • Neck strap - This is a necessary accessory. It is looped through an eyelet located at the back of the horn of the sax. The player wears it on the neck, and it makes carrying the saxophone easier. It also supports the sax so that the fingers of the player can move freely on the keys during play.

    • Thumb Hook - The thumb hook is the point where the right thumb rests on the sax. It is usually made of metal or plastic and is shaped like a hook. It helps the player balance the weight of the saxophone easily.

    • Thumb Rest - This is located at the top of the sax just below the octave key. It helps to balance the left thumb of the player to keep the saxophone balanced as the player plays.

    - pedals, there are three pedals, the one on the left is used to quieten the piano just a bit, you may find that music peices use it, the middle pedal is used to lower the volume on the piano in case you are disturbing other, this is not found in piano pieces, you can use this whenever. The right pedal is used to make the sounds longer and you will find this in music peices
