My name is Eliana Lopes and I am a teacher at a vocational school in Braga, Portugal. I teach organization and business management, the integration and other topics of the commercial and secretarial areas.

I like working with my students in new projects and challenges because its more creative and motivating and we can learn and have some fun in the classes.

 

Working with young people is a demanding, challenging task, but I just love it. It ‘s a two way street, I believe… and both teachers and students can learn and enrich each other mutually.

This project will certainly allow us to rethink the concept of School, Learning and Teaching, exchanging thoughts and trying to come up with new ideas and solutions for a better , more modern and contemporary School, that can meet the students’ needs and desires, always keeping in mind that not everything needs or can  be changed. 

My name is Simão Afonso, I’m 17 years old, I’m from Lisbon, Portugal and I study at CEFAD vocational school.

About my dream school:

My dream school would be like a big school, with young teachers because, in my opinion, they are more patient and explain things better, big pavilions where we´d be able to practise many different sports like basketball, football, handball, and others.

Classrooms would be large and have new state-of-the-art technology.

The cafeteria would also be big and comfortable.

I’ m on a tourism professional course and like to hang out whit my friends and play sports.

If i could build my dream school, it would be one with a big Sports Pavilion, because students need to practice exercise. I think my dream school would  have younger teachers, because young teachers have a different point of view on how to teach. I believe lessons need to be more practical and focus more on  real life situations. 

I think school ought to prepare kids for real life, and in my dream school teachers would be ready to do so and prepare students for real life.

My dream school would have a swimming pool, a football field, a multi-sports pavilion and bigger classrooms and cafeteria.

I think the most important thing though, is having a welcoming and peaceful environment at school because the last thing you need is to feel unsafe or troubled 

My favourite colour is green, I like to cook and watch tv. My favorite season is Summer, because I like to feel the sun and it gives me a sense of relaxation.
