OFCOM enforce rules that certain materials cannot be broadcast before 9pm. After 9pm some TV programs which may be deemed inappropriate for.

Meaning of appropriate scheduling: Depending on the content of the Radio or TV program, the broadcasters will decide on a suitable time to broadcast the program in question. An example of this would be, they wouldn't air something containing strong language and violence before the watershed was over.

Giving away prizes: Prizes that are given away on shows must be appropriate for the age of the participants and the audience in question

Children in TV: People under eighteen must not be caused any unnecessary distress or harm during their involvement on a TV/Radio show

At the start we had an idea for a game review show set in space. In this original idea, we would have a person aboard a spaceship reviewing a certain game that would change from episode to episode; The game would be leaning over a trapdoor during the review and by the end of the episode depending on if the review was positive or negative, the game would either be dropped out through the trapdoor into the vacuum of space or taken off of the trapdoor and placed on a trophy shelf with every other game that has reviewed a positive review on the show.

In order to turn our final idea for our Children's TV Show into a reality we had to complete various pre production documents such as a RECCE and Risk Assessment for the TV studio, Lighting Plan, Floor Plan, Set Design, Budget, Treatment, Opening Storyboard and a finished script.

Production:
The studio was the best location for our Tv show as it's a compact space indoors, which allows us to film whenever without having weather affect filming times or how much filming we get done; In addition to this it also has enough room to allow all the cast and crew to breath and allow us to create a set that is close to our original vision. There is an extensive amount of lighting options available in the TV studio so we can customise our show even further making it unique from other Children's TV shows.

From our original idea to the final product, the main change that took place was the subject of the show; It was originally a game review show but with limited budget, time and resources, we were forced to change the subject of the show into a D.I.Y show. Other than the subject of the show every other aspect of the show remained the same (The setting, presenter ETC).

We had a 3 point camera set-up. The first camera in the middle would display a static shot of the table and the presenter. The second camera on the presenters left would be used for reaction shots of the presenter, we decided on this as it would be easier to emphasise certain phrases and derive humour from this kind of shot. The 3rd camera on the presenters right would display a static zoomed in shot of all the equipment and resources we would use and the process of creating the D.I.Y product, this shot was decided on so that children who learn both visually and through instructions are being accounted for and included.

Overall, our team had a very positive experience in the TV Studio, we all worked very well together and put in equal amounts of work. All team members excelled at the area they were working on with an exceptional amount of technical skill despite this being the first major project that required we work in a TV Studio. One problem that occurred during rehearsals was the teleprompter wasn't displaying the script when it should have; In order to combat this we had multiple copies of the script printed off and stuck below the lens of each camera and also placed on the table in an area the cameras won't see before each rehearsal and this worked and so was kept for the final recording.

All of the group was well co-ordinated and equally skilled technically. Examples of this include set design, Every member of the group contributed to the production of the set (E.G. printing, designing, cutting out and sticking each piece of the set in the correct place, setting up the set before each rehearsal and the final recording) which enabled us to finish the set in a very short amount of time giving us more time to rehearse the TV show. To add, the communication between the floor managers and the team working up in the gallery was great meaning that if there was anything that could be added or improved upon for the final recording of the show it was quickly communicated and changed.

From finishing the preproduction stage of the TV show to finishing the final recording not much changed during production and we kept quite close to our original vision which is a rare thing to have but thanks to the communication and technical skills of the group we were able to achieve this.

The script of the show contained goofy and simple dialogue which is suitable and easy to understand especially towards our target audience of small children. Also, the D.I.Y aspect of the show focuses on easy to create products and is explained with simple instructions, which is ideal for our target audience. The length of the show is short which suites the typically low attention span of children; This is how our show appealed to our target demographic.
