Apollo 8 was the first manned mission to the Moon where they completed ten orbits of the Moon. Apollo 11 was the first mission to land on the Moon. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would be the first humans to step foot on the Moon with astronaut Michael Collins remaining in the capsule.
