I chose this because I thought that it was terribly unfair to ask the prisoners to put on something that they expirienced so much pain in. If it weren’t for Michaels sickness, the kind people in the infirmary, or Grandma Dora’s decisions, they would not have survived. I assumed that they would never reunite or one of them, or both, would pass. Reading about it is as close as we can come to experiencing it, which would have been horrible and tragic. Sadly, some promises went unkept and it cost lives. Yet, if even one life was spared, it was an accomplishment for the Jews. This text also shows a lot of emotion because Michael's dad is giving his mom a sliver of hope in a hard time.
