Throwing in ideas, putting them down, and getting over it is how I write. Being one of the best in English in class when I was young made me thought that I was really good at anything English, I then learned that reading, speaking, and writing (these are just the basic stuffs) are three different things. Maybe I fear to be judged when I write. The expectation that; I should write well because I do great in English - grade wise, I can’t be wrong in my grammar because I am announced best, I should structure my words great so they’d have a nice flow, and use proper punctuations because I study them. People might think that these frustrate me when I write (well, yes, maybe sometimes), but I got so used to it and have gotten over it just like how I process when writing.

In a world full of confusions, writing embraced me to be one of them. Writing changed me to become a better person, to grow up, to mature. Through poems, I expressed every single word that I feel about the special person that once became part of my life. In fact, I joined a Poetry Writing Contest wherein the topic is about “Grandmother’s Hands” and fortunately, I won the competition. When it comes to writing, you have to be more comprehensive, more informative, and more expressive than speaking. Everyone can speak but not everyone can write since it’s a complex process. In a formal speech, one must write his topic first before stepping on the stage.

Without writing, the world would be full of confusions and there will be no effective communication. Even though a person can speak, writing is a necessary tool for a better world. As a person, there is something that you can’t say orally but you can show it through writing because there is more time in writing than speaking. You can’t hurry a writing piece; hence it needs more time to improve it.

Most of the time, writing is something that I enjoy. I like writing more than speaking. I like to write about my thoughts but when it comes to writing in school, I fall into a slump and just stare at the blank canvas, which leads to me not writing about what I want to express but just so I can pass something. It takes me quite a long time to come up with ideas so it’s hard for me to write immediately. Back then, I considered writing as a career but in my three years of college, I realized a lot of things. Despite how I enjoy writing, I don’t find it as fun as much as I used to. 

Maybe someday I will come to enjoy it like I used to. I’ll never know but I will keep on writing from here on out.
