He cares about her and wants her to be successful with her dreams. “ You a horrible-looking chick at this hour.” ( Hansberry 36) Beneatha and Walter fight over money all the time and who should get the check coming in. “ That money belongs to Mama, Walter and it’s for her to decide how she wants to use it.” (Hansberry 37)
Ruth- Sister in-law and she sticks up for her from Walter.
Mama- She’s  her mom and Mama believes that she won’t be able to become a doctor but she also supports her and her decision. “(To Beneatha. Mama is inclined to wander converationally sometimes) What was you and your brother fussing ‘bout this morning?... It’s not important.” (Hansberry 41)
