I’m writing this letter in 2021 and I think you’ll see it in 2031. 10 years have passed and I hope everything’s okay. Did you go to the university? Do you still live in Grumo Appula or you moved in another city? Are you working at the job you dreamed of? I hope you’re happy with how you’re become. And, how’s it going in the world? I hope that the Covid-19 that now is hitting us it’s been kill by the vaccine. And pollution has decreased? The sea is clear and full of fishes? In 2021, the pollution is too much and we’re risking to kill a lot of species of animals. And, in the society, they all treat themselves equally or there is still discrimination? I hope not because in these years we’re fighting so much for equal right for all. Let me know, in any ways.

ten years have passed and you’ll be a woman. Are you starting to realize your dreams? Did you learn to accept your flaws and insecurities and make them a strength? I think so.  Can you now understand why gender and race discrimination exist? Because now I just can’t explain. The only real explanation I can give is that there are so many ignorant people in the world and that sooner or later everything will be fine. During these years we are fighting and it seems that the earth is divided into two parts: who thinks and wants a free world and who instead has a closed mentality and does not allow everyone to be happy. Has the coronavirus passed or still can’t be embraced? Because now the situation is still in balance and I’m very tired. Has separate collection become compulsory? In these years, pollution is so great and we are risking the extinction of many animal and plant species. I really hope that many of these problems have been resolved and that the world has become a better place than it is now.

I hope you survived to the big cataclysm because of our pollution we made, of no handling of the nature and unmeasured industrial activities. I talk to you through the time, from 2021. Today, we are on Thursday and outside it’s cloudy. All of us in the classroom are wearing a mask, because for 1 year there is a giant worldwide pandemic of corona-virus COVID-19. I hope your generation not is in pain with this epidemic or other plague like diseases or natural disasters such as tornadoes. I hope too that your nuclear power plants, if you still have nuclear power plants, are under control and risks are far away. Now, let’s talk about the nature: in 2021, the nature was in a very bad health, the principal forests in the world are going to be destroyed, or are going from bad to worse. I wonder, does Amazon still exist ? Eighty percent of the insects have disappeared and sixty percent of the vertebrates have disapeared too. In short, it’s no picnic.

Today it’s Wednesday 19 of may 2021. In 9 years I don’t know how things will be but I know what it’s happening today.

Today is France the bars reopen, the curfew is moved to 9 pm and I hope that there won’t be for our summer vacation at all. Maybe you are studying at this moment as a chapter of history what we have lived. Who know? It is not the apocalypse, nor a Third World War but a pandemic: Covid-19.. 

It's been a year and a half since we are confined or almost ...

I am in the first year of high school and I go to school every other day, everyone has masks, we do not kiss anymore and everything was closed (bars, restaurants, museums) until tonight. It's a bit of a mess to tell you the truth, nobody expected it and it really changed our lives. Well apart from that, I like the classes every other day, it gives me time to be less stressed, I do sport all day (running and bodybuilding) and I enjoy my garden, my animals, my family. The teachers might say to you, "but you have the weekend to rest and relax at home" but no, I clearly spend the whole weekend doing my homework or studying. That's why this rhythm is so much more relaxing;) I take the bus at 7.45 am to go to class, and I come home at 6.40 pm. Otherwise I have friends, I go to parties. I don't really know what to say ... 

A year ago now, I was in Mexico, I made an exchange, a Mexican came to my place for 6 months and I left for 6 months, I couldn't see many things because we were also confined there, it still allowed me to learn Spanish fluently! If you too are interested in making an exchange, contact the association "En Famille international" (I don't know if it will still exist).

I have a tip for you: be yourself, enjoy every moment and don't be afraid to embark on new things or adventures, this is how you will grow!

I'm Eline and I'm from 2021 ! I'm 15 and soon, I'm going to be 16. I was born in Rennes, inBrittany, it's in France. There, I'm at High school in first year, we called that class, the second.Since the last year, we must to wear a mask on our face because we have a bad virus which isthe Covid-19. We were confined 3 times in France. So, we have to work only in half time, a day atschool, the other at home and again the other at school... etc. and that since the beginning ofNovember until the end of the year ( in France is June-July ). The pandemic is begun in China atWuhan maybe in November or December of 2019, and today, all the world has the virus whichtransform itself in different version: Brazilian virus, South-African virus, English virus, Frenchvirus, US virus and more and more... We have 4 vaccines, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna andJohnson & Johnson. The problem is we aren't sure they are effective.I hope when you read this letter, there will be no more the virus.Don't think it's the only problem on the Earth... there are pollution, a lot of plastic in the oceans,violences ( domestic violences, violences against the police, for example, but there are manyothers too... ). There are murders, discrimination, racism, deforestation, inequality, famines,terrorists, wars, global warming... etc.How is that now? We " found " solutions like electric cars, boats, scooters, planes, buses,bicycles... But i think it's a bad idea... because there are many consequences ( pollution from carbatteries) it's right or no ? I hope no.I'm here to tell you our Earth is important. We can't live without her but she can live without us.Think about that. Do what the earth want you do : don't throw trash on the floor, do quickshowers ( no 15-20 minutes, 5 are sufficient ). Walk if you can walk, the car isn't necessary ateach time. Use organic products ( soap, food, clothes ). You can use ecosia, lilo, or freeapplications like Refoorest, GiveAction or Walk United. I know it's not easy, but if you do that,that will be better for our planet.I leave you with proverbs and quotes to ponder, bye.
