In this audio document, we can hear a testimonial from a lady talking about her job, and what is to work in the Bay Area.
The lady works at MTV, an american TV channel.
She explains that the main problem of living in the Bay Area ( San Francisco) is the cost of life : it's insane.
If you work off the MTV campus there isn't much out to do except hanging out with your co-workers for instance.
However, if you work on the MTV campus, there are many advantages as : having free food available all the time, many cafes, gyms, laundry rooms etc...
But over time, you find out that working on the MTV campus and using all these perks also have some drawbacks, according to the lady you begin spending more and more time at the office which cuts yourself off from your privacy and quite simply from your life, then, she thinks that you start making the same choices day in and day out, and last, obviously, you hang out more and more with the same people you work with.
She describes the place she works, that is to say, at the MTV channel as never-never land, owing to the people who never grow up, they drink all hours, socialise constantly, play games and do little to know work.
She just needs some air so the employee decides to move on to more freedom even if she has to pay for it.
