Based on the client brief, it is clear that art is a huge part of Liza's life. With that, I immediately gravitated toward a paintbrush as a logo. I immediately referenced to the Microsoft Paint logo.

Orange

The colour orange is strongly associated with colour and movement and heavily associated with creativity. I think this is the perfect colour for Liza's logo as they mention stuggling with adapting to a new form of art and they would love to get back into art without pressuring themself.

Primary Colous

If not a shade of red, orange or yellow then I feel the primary colours would also be appropriate for the logo as the primary colours are the foundation of any art work.

After reviewing my mood board in class, Liza mentioned that she liked drawing critters, most especially cats, which I am going to try and include in my logo for her

Liza also mentioned that her art style is very "crunchy and pixelated". This is another element I am aiming to add to her logo to make it more personal to her.

Favourite colour

Liza also mentioned that her favourite colour is pink and that she would appreciate it being included in her logo design.

Logo Colour Palette

Pink and orange work very well together. With Orange being the primary colour I started with and pink being Liza's favourite colour, I believe this palette would work really well for her logo.

How she draws

These days, Liza mainly uses digital software like Microsoft Paint and Procreate to create her art. So I believe that the use of a cursor or mouse than a paintbrush would be more effective and personal to her.

Logo 1

This is my first mockup, a generic drawing of a cat (because I cannot draw) with a cursor in the middle.

Elements of this I like:

The cursor in the middle. I envision the pink-orange colour palette flowing from the cursor into the cat

The cat having no features. Liza's art is not about a specific cat

Something similar to the previous logo, except the silhouette of the cat is different as well as the cursor.

Elements of this I like:

The cursor - I believe this specific cursor will give me more of a chance to add Liza's pixelated art style to the logo.
