It reminds me of some details and reasons for my family's emigration from Sri Lanka. The emotional attachment to the spoons reminded me of how my family's fondest memories about their motherland are also about many of the little things. It also weirdly reminds me of this emotional episode of a cartoon I grew up watching called "Hey Arnold". The character even has the same surname of the author. It detailed a Vietnamese man's separation from his daughter during the Vietnam War and their reunion in America 20 years later. It was the most popular and emotionally resonating episode of the series.

I picked GenZ fast fashion because I find the topic of overconsumption interesting. I also like a lot of the things in the article but also disagree with some of what they said, so I feel it would be fun to write about.

one of the most relatable issue that most Gen-Z faces. I love how the author mentioned that there are gaps between Gen-Z values toward the sustainability of environment and also the desire to buy fast fashion items. It happens a lot actually in 2020 and i witnessed by myself on how my friends act with this issue.

I picked the article “When I married a widower, I made space for his late wife's legacy”. I found myself drawn to it because I’ve only seen pop culture depictions of what a widowed life is like, and mostly joked about or used in satire comedy. Safe to say it’s never positive from what I have witnessed myself. I wanted to read more about the realities/life as a widower to gain more knowledge. I also think the experience itself is unique, and how this person transitioned from two family units, and adapting to one unit.
