Teaching children open-mindedness and multiculturalism is the aim of our project. In order to follow through with that we are organizing a safe environment for the children. I am the chair person of this event and I make sure that our actions follow our mission with safety and open mindedness as our main priority. My main role is dealing with complaints, making sure everything is legal, everything that is needed is openly available to children and parents and instilling a thirst for reading and knowledge in children

I will try to organise some dancers to come out, perhaps, as well as people who will be preparing food for our Diwali celebration/introduction to this festival.

For the second event, I will be organising someone who can perhaps read or speak about some myths or legends about Halloween. Hopefully this will be someone from the Gaelic or Celtic community if there is such a community in Perth. (I will need to research this).

Another idea that I would like to incorporate into Cool Kids Reading Club involves teaching the children about immigration. I would like to organise to have representatives from different diaspora and expatriate groups in Perth to begin to explore ideas of immigration, nationality, citizenship, and community. According to the 2016 census, 32.2% of people in Western Australia were born overseas. As this is such a significant part of our population, it's important for young people to begin to think about these sorts of questions.
