         <description><![CDATA[<div>As Nato is bound to expand with the ascension of Sweden and Finland, concerns are being raised by countries outside of NATO such as China, Russia, and other countries.<br>Are their concerns legitimate? and should NATO consider limiting their expansion to not be seen as a growing threat to other nations?<br><br><strong>Things to consider:&nbsp;</strong></div><ol><li>With the US being the most powerful NATO ally, are they using NATO to hold on to their hegemonic powers and to limit the potential increase in power of other large nations such as China and Russia?<br><br></li><li>Will expanding NATO to other countries really promote peace? Or does it instead run the risk (through article 5) of dragging half the world into war or conflicts which could otherwise have been regional or local?<br><br></li><li>Are the claims of NATO expanding and thus threatening other nations and their territories a legitimate concern?<br><br></li><li>Will a NATO expansion risk uniting countries that feel threatened into similar large defensive alliances, culminating in a conflict between two enormous sides and thus risk world instability and a shake-up of the current world order?<br><br></li><li>Should NATO consider limiting its size and halt further expansions, so as not to be seen as provoking and threatening other nations and their territories?<br><br></li></ol>]]></description>
