I grab my breakfast first.

I walk in quietly and calmly.
I use a Level 0-1 or whisper voice and smile or greet to my teacher and friends.

I hang up my backpack and coat.
I take out what I need for the day and leave everything else neat and tidy.

I go straight to my seat.
I sit down, eat my breakfast, perform my assigned morning duties-- including discarding breakfast trash.

I start my morning work.
I check the board, morning STEM bin, or my folder for directions and begin working quietly.

I wait and listen.
When I’m done, I read silently or follow the early finisher task.
I keep my eyes on the board and ears ready for announcements and morning meeting.

For walking on the hallway they line up with a chant in the classroom before coming out.

I am prepared and ready for my next class.

I put away my pencil, books, and other supplies in their designated spot. I show the teacher I am ready by having calm hands, feet, body, and face (eye contact).

I am ready to line up with my partners.

When my partners also show they are ready, my teacher will call on me to line up at the door. Feet facing one way, eyes towards the back of their neighbors, backpacks on, hands to side. The hallway leader will inspect the class, and when everyone is ready, we'll do a back and forth roll call. (Roll call will be made up by the class... Ex:"hands to your side! clap clap clap".

We will walk calmly.

The hallway leader will ensure we are walking on the colored tile and white tiles. If a student is not following expectations, the hallway leader may tap them and kindly redirect. The hallway leader can assign a point to the student performing with highest transition expectations. We will walk to our other teachers room. We cannot enter the other teacher's room until we demonstrate we are ready (done by a call and response). If we have time to spare, we will do a quick math fluency review quietly led by a teacher leader.

I will greet and enter the next room.

When I enter my next room, I will listen to their directions, greet them, and calmly walk to my desk and perform the bell ringer.

Students lineup outside of the room and I greet them however they’d like to. Immediately after entering, they will put their belongings in their designated spot and collect all needed materials for the day. Afterwards, they begin eating breakfast quietly. Once the timer is over for breakfast, they throw it away and begin the daily morning work until the timer is over.

Classroom entry after specials or lunch:

Afternoon switch:

Students lineup outside of the room and I greet them however they’d like to. Immediately after entering, they will have a timer of 2-3 minutes which will give them enough time to put their belongings in their designated spot and collect all needed materials for the day. Once the timer is over, they will begin their first task.

• Wait for the teacher to greet you at the door

• Come in quietly 

• Find your seat quietly, set your backpack down

• If you have breakfast, quietly finish it (5 minutes)

• Grab your bookbox

• Begin independently reading while waiting for announcements 

• After announcements, wait for the “Chant Leader” to initiate our classroom chant

• Sit back down, wait for circle time.

• Sit in a scholarly position at your seat

• Stand up quietly

• Join the circle quietly

• Read the question in your head and think of your answer

• Wait for the “Speaking Piece” to come to you

• Listen with  respect while someone else is sharing

• Share your answer in complete sentences

• Return to your seat quietly and find your independent reading book

Transitioning to Stations:

• Wait quietly for the teacher to finish the instructions, save your questions for the very end

• Look for your name and group members/ number on the slides

• With your eyes, find the station with the matching group number

• Do not stand to go to your station until the teacher plays the transition music

• You have 30 seconds to walk to and sit down at your station

• All students will be sitting in a scholarly position

• The students with the “material” job and “homework” job will begin collecting papers and passing out homework folders. 

  • These should be the only students up

  • All students must be at voice level 0 

• Once all students have sat down, students will be released by their table groups to grab their backpacks and return to their seats. 

• At this time, students will be awarded for having the top 3 highest points in Class Dojo

• The first 3 placed students will line up first

• The bus students will line up second

• Next, the students in an after-school program 

• Lastly, the parent-pickup students will line up

• We will wait quietly and exit the room when the bell rings. 

If we are moving from whole group to stations to be sure to lay out the format and rotation.

Use the “one person share” to pick one individual to recite the clear expectations

Be sure to have full activities on board

Once I grab my belongings and organize my things into my backpack, I will wait for our roll call.

I will perform end of day clean up duties.

I will clean up for about 5 minutes.

I will have my end of day huddles.

We will line up for dismissal.

1. Morning Greeting- Students will greet the teacher with a high five, handshake, fistbump, hug or verbally. 

2. Put away backpacks- Students will enter the classroom at level 0 and put away belongings in the assigned area.

3. Eat breakfast- Students will quickly eat breakfast at level 1 voice (whisper). 

4. Throw away trash- Students will throw away their trash and double check the area for any mess. 

5. Being morning activity- Students will begin to work on morning activity until the timer goes off. 

-Before we begin any transition, students must be in a Ready Position. Hands together on table, bottoms in the chair, and voices at a level 0.
