the reason why most finches died was because of the drought almost all the plants died because of the lack of water and the plants that the finches eat died, the finches with the small beaks couldn't live because of the lack of water growing the plants. the finches with the bigger beaks survived because they could break open the hard seeds unlike the finches with the small beaks
