CE: How does music help communication? https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/why_parents_sing_to_babies

Music has a therapeutic aspect on babies. They recognize more their mother's voice than their mother's face. Scientifist have made experiences on 2 groups of babies in a stresses place. In the one hand, they made them listen to audiotapes of either someone singing a song or speaking the lyrics, in a room with no other person in sight and no other stimulation. Babies were from French-speaking families but they listen the song in turkish. Besides that, we realize that babies listening to music remained calm twice as long as babies listening to speech. Even if they are in a very boring environment, without distractions, this song can can keep them engaged, although it's not a known voice, which is something unbelievable. In the other hand, they put a group of babies in a distraction-free room but in this case the song is in theire native language, either in French. In that situation we realize, one again, that babies keep calm.
To conclude, music is international, it goes beyond the borders, no matter the language, it soothes babies and it shows that music allows communication and exchange. So music is into spaces and exchanges.
