Celaena is prideful and knows that she's better than every man there, going against orders Celaena ranks first in the first trial the competitors compete in. “The target was little more than a blur of color, so far back that its bull’s-eye was a grain of sand in the vastness of the room. - The arrow hit the absolute center, obliterating the black dot. The two are found reading and sparring together. " 'Do you believe I'm going to kill her? Why would I kill the one person in this castle who isn't a babbling idiot?' She gave him a look that suggested he was part of the majority."
