I definitely value my teachers a lot at school. They do so much for us and don’t get enough credit for it. I also value my ability to learn things easily and fast. I value seeing my friends everyday and being with them because they make me a better person I feel like I get the least value out of homework because when I have a lot of homework, it doesn’t help me become a better learner or learn the material better. I just do it for the grade.

I think that teenagers who defy either their parents or school administrators for a “righteous” cause should be respected because of their bravery and willingness to stand up for justice. This is very beneficial for when teenagers become adults and go into the real world. They must know what their values are and when to take a stand. An example of this would be if a parent said to be home by 10:30 PM, but the teenager was caught into a situation where a friend needed serious help so they decided to disobey their parents and help their friend. Once the teenager arrived home it was 11:15 PM and her parents were furious. She explained to them her reasoning and promised it would never happen again. Her parents respect her for her selflessness and assertiveness and understand where she is coming from.

I think what gives me the most value in my own growth is my work ethic how I treat others and how I present myself as a person, not how popular I am who my friends are what music I listen to or if I play sports. It is more important for my value to placed on how I treat others and who I am as a person rather then my interests or social status.

A healthy relationship is an open and honest relationship. Neither party lies to the other. The parent doesn’t yell when the child does something wrong, but explains why they shouldn’t do that. There is a parent on TikTok who is a gentle parent. She doesn’t discipline her children. She lets them figure out how to solve disagreements between each other, only stepping in when necessary. She explains to them why they can’t do certain things and should be more careful. It works and the children are very well behaved.

I think that a healthy relationship between a parent and child is like a friendship, but with more boundaries. What I mean by this is that I think a child should spend a lot of quality time with their parents and be comfortable enough to tell them certain things. However, I think that parents should make rules for their children, so that they can be corrected when they are wrong.

I feel as though children should focus on making themselves happy because their parents aren’t going to be around forever. If they are doing something just because their parents want them to, they will never truly find happiness which would not be a fun life to live. Parents should be happy for their children if they found something to do that they love. The expectation should be to find whatever makes them happy. My parents are very supportive and understanding in the sense that I’m my own person and I have my own choices and consequences. They are all about me figuring out what I want to do with my life and how I want to live it, so my ideas always coincide with theirs.

I think children should focus on their own happiness, but not fully disregard their parents’ expectations. A child can pave their own path without their parents’ guidance, but sometimes parents’ expectations help guide us into the right direction. When my parents’ expectations don’t coincide with mine, I talk to them and give them an explanation why my expectations for myself are different than theirs for me. Once an understanding is met, we meet in the middle and go from there.

I would say they are in between. I think some teenagers respect others when they defy all orders given because they agree with their actions. Teenagers think it’s cool to go against parents, so this could cause them to me respected more. However, some people may see that as them standing up for themselves, but they don’t necessarily think its right. Sometimes, people are mocked for their actions no matter what. I don’t think there is a definite answer to this because it could be both.

If you ruin your childhood trying to be someone you’re not, then you will have a hard time finding yourself later in life.

A healthy relationship between a parent and child requires communication. Sometimes when a parent tells a child that they cannot do something, their explanation is “because I said so”. This is bad communication between the parent and child and the child does not learn why they cannot do the thing that they want to do. Good communication is when both the parent and child fill each other in on what is happening in their lives, so they understand and respect each other.
