For example, it mentions 'Sloan-Kettering' This is a cancer treatment centre. This suggests that someone she knows possibly a partner could have suffered from cancer. I believe that this person could have died from the cancer as it mentions a 'lily-white hand'.

'I saw Johanna down in the subway,
She took an apartment in Washington Heights,
Half of the ring lies here with me,
The other half's at the bottom of
the sea'.
This verse suggests that he hasn't seen Johanna in a while because they broke up and she moved out. It suggests that it was a bad break up because her ring is at the 'bottom of the sea'.

The chorus of this song is:
'Look outside the raincoats coming, say oh'.
This suggest sadness, or it could suggest that it is raining and raincoats are coming which will protect from the rain. The music features guitar and drums and has a strong beat. When it gets to the chorus the drums carry on but the guitar stop and flutes start playing a pretty melody. The relationship is over which is shown in the verses after the first chorus as they are saying about memories and missing their 'little talks' and 'we used to play outside when we were young and full of like and full of love'.
Even thought it's over it's clear that they still love each other. 

A the beginning the woman sings:
'I don't like walking around this old and empty house'. 
And the male singer answers with: 
'So hold my hand, I'll walk with you  my dear'.

Also I feel the quickness of the song could also be seen as panic and/or worry for life without the other person.
The song is upbeat, it uses drums and horns at the beginning, then at the slower bits it uses guitars playing chords. There is also sound which sounds like sound effects when it get to a verse when it also slows down and the lyrics are:
'You're gone, gone, gone, away I wish you'd disappear,
 all that left is a ghost of you'.

The chorus of this song are warning others that they 'better run, better run, out run my gun' and 'faster than my bullet'.

Foster said in an interview that he wrote the song when he began to read about the growing teenage mental health. He said he wanted to "get inside the head of an isolated, psychotic kid" and "bring awareness" to the issue f gun violence amongst youth which he feels is an epidemic that comes from a "lack of family, lack of love and also isolation". So that is where the character (Robert) came from.

This song has an electronic sound and is most likely done through technology and not instruments, it also has an effect on the voice which makes it sound more electronic. This adds to the idea of being inside the kids head and puts emphasis to the "psychotic" side as you are hearing it differently and unusually. 
There is also a section where whistling is used to sound the melody and also clapping. So it would probably be effective doing a concept video. 
I also feel it would e effective if the electronic sound of this song, such as the voice effect, was shown through the music video.
